Getting to know people in Hollywood can be challenging, but 'Love In The Limelight' actor Alexa PenaVega and her husband and co-star Carlos PenaVega met and fell in love entirely by coincidence. The pair has set an outstanding example of what it means to prioritize family before profession throughout the years.

The film is part of Hallmark's 'Fall into Love' roster for August and includes six new Spanglish songs penned by Carlos. 'Love in the Limelight,' based on the real-life love story of Winnie Hung and Willie Aames, follows Summer (Alexa PenaVega), a dedicated fan of the successful boy band the Mendez Boyz, notably lead singer Nick (Carlos PenaVega). After getting a lovely fan letter from Summer, Nick chooses to answer with a phone call, starting a connection that has lasted to this day. The two ultimately meet when Nick's management organizes a show for him at a tiny venue at Summer's birthplace in Salt Lake City, where she works in human resources at a university. Summer's abuelita (Ivonne Coll), a trendy granny with a TikTok following, pushes her to follow her heart, and it's evident that their friendship has set the ground for romance.

What was Alexa PenaVega's first movie?

Alexa played a teenage Jo Harding in the 1996 film 'Twister.' 'ER,' 'Follow the Stars Home,' 'Ghost Whisperer,' and 'The Bernie Mac Show' were among the many television series and films she appeared in. She played Carmen Cortez in all four 'Spy Kids' films, and rose to fame after the first film's release in 2001. Apart from being on national television, she had a no-frills upbringing. She went to a conventional school and unlike many other kids her age, she enjoyed sitting in a classroom. She would be surrounded by youngsters her own age, rather than much older filmmakers, especially when 'Spy Kids' was being filmed. While the young actress was busy having fun — and earning a good living — young fans all around the world were becoming obsessed with 'Spy Kids.' From there, the 15-year-old star appeared to have an unlimited number of options.

While her film career was thriving, Alexa opted to pursue a stage musical instead. In 2007, she was cast as Penny Pingleton in the Tony Award-winning musical 'Hairspray.' Her acting career took an entirely new turn at that point and she returned to the big screen the following year. This time, it was in a film musical; her role in 'Repo! The Genetic Opera' provided her with yet another opportunity to use her voice. She has sung many songs on-screen, which piqued her desire in pursuing a more musical career. She was offered another musical series after landing a recurring role in the television series, 'Nashville.' 'Ruby & the Rockits,' a series centered on an '80s pop sensation,' premiered on television screens worldwide in 2009, giving this movie star another chance to sing for us all. She returned to the set of the first 'Spy Kids' film in 2011, over a decade after she first appeared in it.

Currently, Alexa is trying to master something new: TV movies. She joined Hallmark Channel in 2016 when she was cast as the lead in 'Ms Matched.' This was not her first film for the channel. When she was 12, she starred in a Hallmark Hall of Fame film.

Who is Alexa PenaVega's spouse?

Before meeting Carlos, Alexa had vowed never to date. After her divorce from her ex-husband Sean Covel, the 'Spy Kids' alum and the 'Big Time Rush' actor crossed paths at a Los Angeles Bible study. Her focus on Christianity led to another door being opened. She didn't anticipate her connection with Carlos to be what it was. Nevertheless, a bond developed. In 2014, Alexa and Carlos got married and merged their last names. Carlos even designed their own engagement ring! The pair have been on screen together countless times throughout the years. They were even 'Dancing With The Stars' participants at the same time. They wanted to get their priorities straight after starting a family together.

In 2017, Alexa started including her true love in all of her endeavors. She appeared in 'Enchanted Christmas' on Hallmark Channel that year with Carlos. The two later produced and co-starred in Hallmark's 'Love at Sea.' The network in 2019 gave the couple their own show, 'Picture Perfect Mysteries: Newlywed and Dead.'

Alexa and Carlos were anxious to leave the spotlight after the birth of their first child. They had the ideal location in mind, and the bustle of Hollywood didn't seem like the finest place to raise a growing child. They relocated to Maui in 2017.

What is Alexa PenaVega's net worth?

Alexa is an American actress, singer, and pianist with a net worth of $8M, claims Celebrity Net Worth. This is the combined net worth with her husband.

On Saturday, August 6, at 8 pm ET on Hallmark, don't miss the couple in 'Love in the Limelight.'
