'Howie is the new Simon': 'AGT' fans slam judge for calling Jojo & Bri's singing 'gimmicky'

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Thanks to Simon Cowell's frequent harsh feedback and criticism of the acts and performers featured on 'America's Got Talent', the celebrity judge earned the reputation of being a tough judge to please. While Simon donned the role of the metaphoric 'bad cop', his fellow judges- Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara, were by default the 'good cops' with their generous praises and appreciation of the acts and performances.

But it looks like Howie is trying to switch sides and join Simon's bad cop team. The recently aired episode of the ABC show featured Howie doling out very harsh and hurtful feedback to the performers featured on the show. From slamming MPLUSPLUS's performance by comparing it to pier lights, to going after uncle-niece duo Jojo & Bri, the comedian judge was in an especially rare mood.

'AGT' fans were taken aback by Howie's feedback on Jojo & Bri's singing performance. He called the sweet uncle and niece duo's singing performance "gimmicky". He then doubled down on them by declaring that Bri was the star amongst the duo and suggested she sing solo so that she could reach the "stratosphere". After listening to Howie be rude to Jojo & Bri, they took to Twitter to call out the celebrity comedian,.

A fan tweeted, "Howie that was wrong and rude. #AGT." "Ok...Howie! Stick with the jokes & let them sing 😎👍 #AGT," wrote a fan. "Did @howiemandel just pull an old school Piers Morgan move and tell an act to break up so “the better one” could shine?! #AGT," wondered a fan. "Howie is the new Simon #AGT," declared a fan.
