Season 5 of 'A Million Little Things' premiered and the new season begins with all of the friends waiting at the hospital as Garry's (James Roday Rodriguez) lump reappears. However, because the doctor did not provide the results on the same day, the anxiety level skyrockets. In terms of the other characters, it is game night at Rome (Romany Malco) and Regina's (Christina Moses), and Katherine(Grace Park) finally introduces Greta (Cameron Esposito) as her girlfriend. Eddie brought Anna to the party and she was nervous and awkward among everyone, and she felt threatened by Katherine because she and Eddie still have so much in common.

Although episode 1 was a total of pent up drama and emotions, not to the forget the game night, where all Gary wanted was to feel the same before getting any news but indeed his friends somehow try to make him feel different which results in him lashing out in front of everyone and asking everything to treat him the same Gary before getting any news. By the end of the episode, you'll see Maggie and Gary waiting in the doctor's room to hear about the news of his cancer finally the doctor gives them the good news that the lump that they removed was not cancer and Maggie and Gary finally decide to have a baby.
