‘A Business Proposal’: Epic love scene sparks jokes about Tae-moo meeting 'Samantha and Rachel'

The K-drama started with a bang and it seems like the Ahn Hyoseop and Kim Sejeong starrer ‘A Business Proposal’ will end with a bang too. The SBS webtoon-based K-drama has finally reached its last episode which will air on April 5 in Korean time but fans are not ready to bid the show a farewell just yet. ‘A Business Proposal’ is a rather short by K-drama standards with only 12 episodes unlike the usual 16 episodes but the chemistry and synergy between the actors have the fans asking for more.

'A Business Proposal' was a success from the first episode itself, contributing to the rising popularity of its star cast. Ahn Hyoseop plays the main lead as the businessman Kang Tae-moo, while idol-turned-actress Kim Sejeong plays Shin Ha-ri. Side leads Kim Mingue and Seol Inah are also basking in the current glory of the show with fans hoping for a new drama starring the two as main leads.

Shin Ha-ri and Kang Tae-moo finally get a room

Right from the first episode itself, fans love Kim Sejeong’s portrayal of Shin Hari so much so that the inside joke about ‘Samantha and Rachel’ became the show's meme. With the Episode 11 of the show that aired on April 4, fans are plain thirsty after the epic makeout scene between the two main leads, Ahn Hyoseop and Kim Sejeong. In the penultimate episode of the show, fans were finally able to see their characters, Kang Tae-moo and Shin Ha-ri, chalk out some personal time as they made out in a hotel room.

This had fans calling back to the first episode where Shin Ha-ri disguised herself as Jin Young-seo (played by Seol In-ah) in order to trick Kang Tae-moo during their blind date and to throw him off with her antics so that Tae-moo would refuse to marry Young-seo. As we all are aware the plan was a failure but what came out was a funny first-date interaction where Ha-ri talked about how she wanted to “get a room” with Tae-moo, to fool him into believing that Young-seo was a promiscuous woman.

Shin Ha-ri (played by Kim Sejeon) shocked not only Kang Tae-moo (played by Ahn Hyoseop) but also the show's fans when she claimed she had a boob job which cost her 20 million won in total. While trying to come off as a snobby rich woman who is money-minded, Shin Ha-ri asked Tae-moo how he liked her augmented breasts as she stated, “The one on the left is Samantha and the one on the right is Rachel,” with an exaggerated shimmy, coupled with a “Hi.”

'Samantha and Rachel unboxing + mukbang'

The scene from the show has its own fanbase and they are finally rejoicing after the makeout scene from Episode 11 of the show. Fans jokingly called it the ‘unboxing’ or the ‘mukbang’ session featuring "Samantha and Rachel" on Twitter where fans claimed that Kang Tae-moo was finally able to meet them. One fan asked, “SAMANTHA AND RACHEL ARE U GUYS OK THERE??" Another fan said, "Samantha and Rachel really won tonight." Another viewer asked, "(Does) that mean Archaeopteryx already meet Samantha and Rachel?!"

One tweet said, "HELPPP SAMANTHA AND RACHEL ARE SHAKING," while another said, "IM CRYING LMAOOOOOO SAMANTHA AND RACHEL ARE TRENDING RN." Echoing the sentiment, a fan said, "Samantha and rachel are at the party tonight." Another cheeky tweet read, "It's a mukbang + unboxing of Samantha and Rachel." A similar tweet said, "Samantha and Rachel unboxing HAHAHAHAHA." Another fan joked, "Tae Moo to Ha Ri: Lets unbox Samantha and Rachel."
