Morgan Wallen addressed the chair-throwing incident, and revealed he was 'not proud' of his behavior
On April 7, Morgan Wallen was taken into custody for reportedly hurling the chair, leading to his arrest. He faced accusations of three instances of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Following this incident, Morgan Wallen released a statement on X (previously known as Twitter), expressing his regret for his actions and admitting that he was ashamed of his behavior.
"I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. Iβve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chiefβs. I'm not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility," he shared.
Wallen further added, "I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change."
The legal proceedings for Wallen's case are scheduled to resume in Nashville on August 15, 2024.
Morgan Wallen has been arrested several times over the years
Morgan Wallen's legal troubles have garnered a lot of attention from the people over the years. From a DUI charge in 2016 that was ultimately dismissed, to his arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in May 2020, Wallen has had his fair share of run-ins with the law.
Additionally, his reckless behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic, including partying without a mask in Alabama, led to widespread criticism and the cancellation of his 'SNL' debut in October 2020.
The controversies continued in February 2021 when a video surfaced of Wallen using a racial slur, resulting in swift consequences such as being pulled from radio stations and suspended by his record label.
Despite issuing an apology, further repercussions followed, including being banned from the American Music Awards in October 2021.
More recently, in April 2023, Wallen canceled a concert in Mississippi last minute citing vocal issues, only to be hit with a federal lawsuit for breach of contract and negligence from a disgruntled concertgoer. This latest legal entanglement adds to the growing list of troubles for the country singer, raising questions about his future in the music industry.
