The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards was filled with bizarre looks

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards continued its celebration of television shows and celebrities in Los Angeles, following the postponement of the 2023 ceremony due to the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strike. Anthony Anderson, actor, and comedian, hosted the event at the Peacock Theater.

This year, 'Succession' led the drama nominations with 27, while 'Ted Lasso' from Apple+ earned 21 nominations. The star-studded ceremony featured presenters such as Pedro Pascal, Jodie Foster, Jason Bateman, John Hamm, Hannah Waddingham, and Dame Joan Collins.

Meanwhile, the award ceremony was glammed up with an array of big-name stars as they put on a very stylish display on the red carpet. However, not all celebrities won the red carpet race as they failed to the fashion during the Primetime awards. The award ceremony was filled with tacky material, bizarre fish gills like skirts, and more.

Top 10 worst dressed at Emmys 2024

Multiple celebrity guests suffered serious fashion fails at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards and unknowingly bagged a spot on the worst-dressed list.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez arrived quite late at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards but not fashionably. The actress donned a strapless sheer mesh wine-coloured Oscar de la Renta gown. She accessorized her look with a sparkling Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace.

However, Selena opted for colour-coordinated lips but failed to impress. The actress' berry lip gave vampy vibes which was absolutely not perfect for the evening.

Elliot Page

Elliot Page's 75th Primetime Emmy Awards outfit was perfect for the worst-dressed accolade. 'The Umbrella Academy' actor donned all-black pants and suit with a long scarf flowing through his neck to the floor.

He styled his look with black sunglasses and silver jewellery. However, the worst part of Elliot's look was his newly-debuted perm.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox attended the Emmys 2024 to present an award to Hannah Waddingham. However, the actress received the attention for the wrong reasons only.

Laverne donned a revealing shimmery strapless gown. The leathery, black vintage Thierry Mugler Sirene dress from 1989 seemed like the actress was wrapped in a skin-tight plastic.

To complement her look, Laverne wore her hair up in an Ariana Grande-style ponytail which was another fail.

Ali Wong

Ali Wong's outfit was another Emmys 2024 fashion disaster. The comedian opted for a multi-coloured, multi-textured dress that simply did not fit for the big night.

The top half of the gown was decked with silver jewels, and the bottom featured a royal blue flowery pattern. Ali's dress seemed like a DIY crafting project featuring a bizarre combination of sequins and floral print.

Aubrey Plaza

Aubrey Plaza channels Loewe's golden gown with a bizarre top. 'The White Lotus' actress dress was completed with a giant 'needle' threaded through the top of the gown's square-cut top.

The daring look gave a dramatic square neckline that looked like a folded piece of gown. Aubrey seemingly went out of the way with the giant needle while giving offbeat vibes.

Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian

'The Kardashians' stars Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian are known for their wild romance and looks and they tried to do the same but ironically failed. Kourtney and Travis arrived on the red carpet of Emmys 2024 in an all-black pant-suit

The husband-wife duo wore the same outfit and shades, except Kourtney's plunging neckline which gave a peek at her cleavage.

Quinta Brunson

Quinta Brunson looked stunning in a pink dress on the Emmys 2024 red carpet but her full-skirted creased Dior dress was the centre of online trolls. Fans wondered if she didn't own iron.

The actress donned a 1950s-inspired sleeveless satin dress with the style trimmed at the waist with a satin bow. Although the dress was quite casual for the ceremony, the crease made it worse.

Emma Brooks

Model and actress Emma Brooks Mcallister sported an optical illusion dress which seemed like she was completely nude. The white design dress featured a skin-tight long-sleeved shirt with a black shadow pattern.

Emma's figure-hugging gown flowed down into a skirt that spread behind her as she made her way onto the red carpet.

Issa Rae

Issa Rae has impersonated birds in a yellow feathered gown. The ensemble featured a high neck, long sleeves a floor-length hemline and a loose, robe-like silhouette, all covered up in yellow feathers.

The nine-time Emmy nominee tried to elevate her look with a few diamond rings and a pair of drop diamond earrings. She wore her hair slicked back with a few feathers to match the feathers of her dress. Issa's featured look was more kind of a party than a fit for the biggest television award ceremony.

RuPaul

'RuPaul's Drag Race' star RuPaul had fun at the Emmys 2024 red carpet being worst dressed.

It seemed like RuPaul failed to take the red carpet appearance seriously and arrived in a golden skin-tight gown with feathered flowers popping up all around.
