‘Young Sheldon’ star Montana Jordan says his lady love Veronica Duncan will be back in the house for Season 3
16-year-old actor Montana Jordan won our hearts with his brilliant performance as Georgie Cooper, the handsome older brother of Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage). While Sheldon is well-known for his intellect, Georgie's talent had remained hidden until the recently aired episode threw light on his smart business-savvy skills.
In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), Montana discusses how he got into the showbiz, his theories about the character Georgie Cooper, and his future projects.
So, how did this Texas native find himself in the glamorous Hollywood? Jordan says he landed his first movie through a Facebook casting call, and later landed the plum role on ‘Young Sheldon’. "Well, my first gig was a movie that I filmed in North Carolina with Josh Brolin and Danny McBride. And the way that came up is my mom's friend had seen a casting call on Facebook and told my mom about it. Later, my mom and I went out and auditioned for it not thinking anything of it. A couple of months later, I finally got the movie. So I flew out to North Carolina and filmed it. And the rest is history.”
Later, his manager began sending him scripts for a few roles, but nothing appealed to the young actor until he stumbled across the script for the hit sitcom. He taped a video of himself and sent it to the casting director of ‘Young Sheldon’, following which he found himself in California auditioning for the role of Georgie. “I came up to California and did an audition and when I got to the audition I was the only kid trying out for Georgie. So I guess that already picked me basically”.
We asked the young star if he could tease us with any details about the ongoing season 3, Jordan quickly replied saying he doesn’t know anything as the writers don’t reveal much to them, and also he doesn’t want to give away any spoilers.
However, he did reveal that his lady love, Veronica Duncan (Isabel May), will be returning in season 3. "I don't want to spoil it for you. All right, but we do know she's (Veronica) in the house, like she's going to be there in the season.”
When asked to share his experience of being part of ‘Young Sheldon’, Jordan couldn't stop praising his co-stars and showrunners. He says that he feels blessed and considers his co-stars his family. “I've been on the show for three years now, and it's like we’re a family out there. It’s disrespectful to call them people that I work with because they are my family up there because I've been working with them for three years, and they're amazing for sure.”
Speaking about what he sees himself doing in the near future, he says, “I'm going to start making some more YouTube videos”.
You can catch new episodes of ‘Young Sheldon’ every Thursday at 8.30/7.30c only on CBS and CBS All Access.
