YG Entertainment went all out for Treasure’s ‘Jikjin’

Reports suggest that the label had actually invested 500 million won (approximately $420,000) on the production of the music video for the title song ‘Jikjin’ (stylized as JIKJIN). The amount is making heads turn about the grand scale of the fourth-gen group Treasure's new music video. In their statement about this, an official from YG Entertainment said that this is the first time the label has spent such a high amount on the production of any group under the label other than Blackpink.

The news has in a way increased expectations amongst fans regarding Treasure’s latest comeback. The music video for ‘Jikjin’ serves as the lead single of Treasure’s first comeback in 12 months. It is directed by Lee Sang-yoon, a star PD from Mnet, who was recruited by the label YGE in the year 2017.

Director Lee is known for creating legendary stages for many YG artists at the MAMA awards over the years. Lee Sang-yoon also directed the performance video for Blackpink Lisa’s B-side solo track, ‘Money’ which was a hit ever since it was released.

‘Guys better find your money’

Now as the news of YG Entertainment spending such a huge amount on the production of one music video, fans of Treasure have started joking about how YG is trying to balance funds by releasing more and more Treasure merch that will surely be a hit amongst fans. One fan said, “No wonder Yg ent keep drop merch for Treasure non stop of merch thingyyy i think after this U guys better find ur money.” Another fan said, “YG posting the article about 500M MV then proceed posting about new truz merch and also jikjin merch. HYPED FOR JIKJIN.”

One more fan said, “I think the reason why yg keeps on dropping merch is for us to pay back the 500M won they spent of treasure.” One more fan said, “Teumes right now cause YG keeps on dropping treasure merch.” Another fan said, “The only news we want today is “Treasure would be on KNOWING BROS” not new merch again.”

One Teume said, “With the amount of merch they're dropping in just a month, treasure can cb 5x this year and they'll still have funds for 2023 cbs.” One more fan said, “Oh okay, so the reason why it’s raining treasure merch everywhere is they spent 500 million won for the mv.” Another fan said, “500 million krw that is so hella expensive let's do our best for jikjin!!” One more fan said, “Now that we know YG keeps on releasing merchandise, it's because YG is also broke, so they give their best on MV. That cost 500 million won.”
