'Yellowstone' season 2 episode 10 'Sins of the Father' photos tease John Dutton's dad and a power-packed finale
Spoilers ahead for the finale of 'Yellowstone' Season 2
The end is nigh on the Dutton Ranch.
The penultimate episode of the series had us all stop in our tracks. We know that John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) grandson Tate (Brecken Merrill) is kidnapped by the Beck brother since Malcolm Beck (Neal McDonough) was adamant that he wanted to hurt someone that John loved dearly. With the final episode still a while away, Paramount Network has supplied a sneak peek into the episode. The promotional images shared by Paramount Network shows the entire ranch working towards finding Tate. This sneak peek shows that the finale will also feature a new face, which means that there is a possibility that there could be a flashback.
News had broken sometime last week that the legendary Dabney Coleman would be starring in the Season 2 finale of the show. We now know that he will be essaying the role of John's father and are sure that the episode will be featuring a flashback. What's more interesting is that Costner is playing his younger self himself - as opposed to actor Josh Lucas, who usually plays John Dutton in flashbacks. This is very telling because what happened between the two of them wouldn't have happened a long time ago.
Another image of what seems to be the Dutton ranch shows Kayce (Luke Grimes) and John in the middle of discussing what lies next. John can be seen wearing his badge - something that hints at him wanting to operate with law, but considering how the Duttons tend to skirt the law on 'Yellowstone', it is a little surprising that he chooses to wear the badge in these times.
We love seeing Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) together. In the promotional images shared by the network, it looks like the couple is sharing a tender moment in the middle of all the chaos. The two can be seen holding hands, looking gently at each other - it looks like they have each others' back at such trying times. Does this mean that the finale will finally give us Beth and Rip officiating their love for each other? Season 2 saw the makers teasing a union throughout. But as much as they love each other, will John support the relationship?
In another released photo, Kayce, much like John, is wearing his Livestock Agent vest, which means that the father-son duo is operating as officials at some point in the finale. At the same time, Rip's expression is worrisome - what lies in front of them? Whatever it is, we know that Kayce is not going to just give into. He is going to fight back if not kill. It remains to be seen what happens, but either way, the finale episode looks power-packed!
At the same time, there is no news about Wes Bentley's Jamie's next decisions. He is to be a father, but that is complicated since he must first figure out his life. We also want more information about the reason behind Beth and Jamie's damaged, hateful relationship. We still think it might be a product of a failed pregnancy, but we're only speculating.
'Yellowstone' airs on Wednesdays at 10 pm PT/ET.
