‘YELLOW PUNCH’: Rocket Punch promises powerful comeback with upcoming mini-album

K-Pop girl group Rocket Punch is all set to make a comeback on February 28, 2022. The sextet, consisting of members Yeon Hee, Juri, Su Yun, Yun Kyoung, So Hee, and Da Hyun, are showing off their visual and dance charms in the teaser of their upcoming mini-album ‘YELLOW PUNCH’. The members groove to the retro-inspired tunes of the title song ‘Chiquita’. The impressive teaser has garnered over 1.2 million views already (at the time of writing).
The teaser for Rocket Punch’s lead single ‘Chiquita’ is quite unique as it shows the concept images first, followed by a song and dance performance. The short teaser whets the fans appetite for what is to come soon. The vibrant lights, the stunning visuals and the eye-catching hand choreography heighten the anticipation of fans waiting for the full performance. The members are seen wearing black and white chains over their outfits which highlights a mature atmosphere — a departure from earlier performances by Rocket Punch. The lyrics of the song encourages young girls to express their feelings and charms with confidence.

Rocket Punch's latest 'YELLOW PUNCH'
The anticipation is further deepened with the comeback posters. The first comeback poster is etched with letters in yellow that contrast with the black and white photo behind it. It is a bold declaration of Rocket Punch’s own confident energy. The background photo drew curious attention as there are boxes with ‘YELLOW PUNCH’ written on them. Another is a concept photo of the K-pop group’s unique stage, hung on a hanger.
The pictures are reminiscent of a waiting room at a fashion show, replete with the excitement and nervous energy that is experienced backstage. The images are symbolic of Rocket Punch’s message to the fans that they are ready to meet them on the ‘runway’. The comeback posters along with the teasers have helped drum up quite a bit of excitement for their new music.
Comeback after 9 months
The group is making a comeback nine months after their hit single ‘Ring Ring’ was released in May 2021. The success of ‘Ring Ring’ gave the group a new nickname ‘Newtro Fairy’. The hopes of seeing the group’s new growth and unique charm in this release runs high among K-pop fans. ‘YELLOW PUNCH’ is Rocket Punch’s fourth mini-album. It takes the group’s ‘COLOR COLLECTION’ series ahead, adding the new colour Yellow. The series began with the energy-filled mini-album ‘PINK PUNCH’, followed by the hip and kitsch teen crush themed ‘RED PUNCH’.
When will 'YELLOW PUNCH' be released?
Then came the refreshing ‘BLUE PUNCH’. What 'YELLOW PUNCH' will depict thematically for the group remains to be seen — we will just have to wait for the mini-album's release. Rocket Punch, also known as RCPC debuted on August 7, 2019, with the song ‘BIM BAM BUM’ from their mini-album ‘PINK PUNCH’. ‘YELLOW PUNCH’ by Rocket Punch is slated to release on February 28 at 6 pm KST (4 am ET). It will be available for streaming on various streaming sites like Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn and more.
