Now that everyone knows of the engagement, does that mean we can get a WayHaught wedding by the end of the season's remaining episodes?

Well, we have been waiting for such a long time for this. The WayHaught engagement is finally official and boy, does it feel good! 'Wynonna Earp' ended the midseason finale for Season 4 on a bang and we could not be happier. Sure, not everyone is happy, but hey, we will get there. For now, we will bask in all the glory that is the beautiful relationship between Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell).

Fans would remember that Waverly originally asked Nicole to marry her in the finale for Season 3 before she headed off with her sister, Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano) to fight Bulshar.

Unfortunately, the separation between Nicole and Waverly ended up being much longer than anticipated. For one, fans had to wait for two years before 'Wynonna Earp' returned with a new season after the Season 3 finale which showed Waverly being taken into the Garden of Eden. By the time she made it out of the Garden with Waverly and Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) in tow, 19 months had passed in Purgatory.

Nicole, who at first fought with Wynonna to get the latter to the Garden so she could rescue Waverly, had her wait extended for much longer than she thought. In her desperate wait, she even ended up making a deal with the Clantons to get Waverly back. In return, a hex was cast on Nicole to get her to kill Doc.

Thankfully, the final moments of Season 4's summer finale — which had us on the edge of our seats with Nicole first "dying", then jumping into the body of a frog and then becoming an actual ghost — saw Nicole return to her corporeal form. Waverly did not wait any longer and asked Nicole again, who actually said yes this time around.

Fans were excited that for once the show ended on a good note with some happy tears on the way. A fan tweeted, "#WynonnaEarp #FiveForWynonna Wayhaught proposal. Enough dancing around the subject. Enough frog barging. Everyone got to see this beautiful moment on TV and we are blessed tonight. Thank you @emtothea @WynonaEarp." A fan rightfully noted, "Instead of a heart-wrenching cliffhanger, #WynonnaEarp gave us a joyous and loving proposal and I, for one, think that's the positivity I needed to get through the rest of 2020 #Wayhaught."

A fan happily noted, "OHMYGOD YES!!!!!! THEY FINALLY BOTH SAID I LOVE YOU AND THEY’RE ENGAGED!!!!! IM SO F**KING HAPPY!!!!!! #WynonnaEarp #WayHaught @KatBarrell @DominiqueP_C." Another tweeted, "Okay so I may have cried just a little bit but they were happy tears #WynonnaEarp #FiveForWynonna."

Now that everyone knows of the engagement, does that mean we can get a WayHaught wedding by the end of the season's remaining episodes? Fans certainly are hoping for it. One fan tweeted, "You guys.. if we are this happy about Wayhaught's proper proposal and 'I love you's and no cliffhangers, just imagine if we get 4x12 to be Wayhaught's wedding and WyndocAlice reunion!!! I'm emotional, do not f**kin' touch me! #WynonnaEarp #FiveForWynonna."

'Wynonna Earp' will return with new episodes in 2021.
