Spoilers for 'Wynonna Earp' Season 4 Episode 2 'Friends in Low Places'

When Nicole Haught (Katherine Barrell) appeared in the Garden of Eden in the previous episode of 'Wynonna Earp', we thought that we got an early reunion for her and Waverly Earp (Dominique Provost-Chalkley). Unfortunately, as it turns out, that was not Nicole at all, but rather, Eve, who is a demon and trapped in the Garden. We learned that Waverly had to take her angel father's place on the throne to keep Eve in the Garden. However, it seems that Eve has made it out, and Waverly's older sister, Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano) was not leaving the hellish place without her sister.

When the reunion between Nicole and Waverly came, it was everything we had been waiting for. Syfy's 'Wynonna Earp' is groundbreaking in many ways, but what stands out is the way the show treats its queer characters. Often, queer sex scenes are made for the male gaze and do no service to those who actually seek representation. The "WayHaught" relationship, however, sets new paths for other shows (and movies) to follow. It's clear the impact the relationship has had on fans by the way they react. Nothing about Waverly's and Nicole's intimate scenes feel like they were made to imbue a shock factor, rather, they are just two people deeply in love.

Fans were thrilled for their reunion, as one tweeted, "That #WayHaught sex scene DESTROYED EVERY OTHER SEX SCENE THAT HAS EVER EXISTED #WynonnaEarp #wynonnaearpwatchparty." Another wrote, "I think it’s safe to say @emtothea@KatBarrell @DominiqueP_C are to blame for breaking the internet! #WynonnaEarp #earpers." A fan tweeted, "I’m just gonna watch a certain scene from that episode over again.......for science #WynonnaEarp." A fan wrote, "In all seriousness, that was the most beautiful scene I’ve ever witnessed on television that will go down in history and it means the world to a lot of us. Eternally grateful @KatBarrell @DominiqueP_C @emtothea #wayhaught #WynonnaEarp."

However, we soon came to learn that Waverly, Wynonna, and Doc Holliday (Tim Rozon) were stuck in the Garden longer than we thought. To be accurate, they only returned to Purgatory after 18 months, three weeks, and four days. A fan wrote, "18 months 3 weeks & 4 days......DAMN WTF!! HOLY SHIT! NO WONDER NICOLE WAS FUCKING HUNGRY! @KatBarrell @DominiqueP_C #WynonnaEarp #WynonnaEarpWatchParty."

'Wynonna Earp' airs on Syfy on Sunday nights at 10/9c.
