'Palm Royale' Season 2 Update: Here's the renewal status for Apple TV+'s period comedy series
PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Soon after the conclusion of Apple TV+'s 'Palm Royale', fans are left wondering if there would be another season. However, the renewal for the period comedy series is not yet confirmed even though the cast members are eager to return in their respective roles.
'Palm Royale' Season 1, created by Abe Sylvia, consists of ten episodes. It introduces Kristen Wiig in the key role of Maxine Simmons, accompanied by Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Laura Dern, Carol Burnett, Allison Janney and Leslie Bibb in supporting roles.
Here's what we know about 'Palm Royale' Season 2
The fate of 'Palm Royale' Season 2 remains uncertain at this point of time. On one hand, the show was introduced as a limited series, hinting that it may not be renewed for another installment. While on the other hand, we can't dismiss the possibility outright.
The series is loosely based on the novel 'Mr. & Mrs. American Pie' by Juliet McDaniel. Though the 2018 novel lacks a sequel, 'Palm Royale' might receive another season since the Apple TV+ adaptation diverges significantly from the source material, potentially leading the writers to explore new narrative paths.
'Palm Royale' cast members want to return in Season 2
In conversation with Collider, Leslie Bibb, who plays Dinah Donohue, says that shall there be 'Palm Royale' Season 2, it "would be even wilder."
She adds, "There’s a writers’ room that’s open, and we’ll see. Apple doesn’t okay anything until they see numbers, but I’ve heard rumblings."
Even Ricky Martin has expressed his interest to return as Robert Diaz in the sequel of 'Palm Royale'. He told Town & Country, "I would love to have a season two!"
Though there has been no official confirmation on a Season 2 yet, we'll keep you posted as soon as we discover more.
