Will there be 'Tulsa King' Season 4? Here's how the finale secretly sets up 'NOLA King' spinoff
Dwight Manfredi isn't ready to hand over his crown just yet. As Paramount+'s hit crime drama 'Tulsa King' barrels into its next phase, Sylvester Stallone's aging mob capo continues to rule the streets of Tulsa. Season 3 left fans reeling with shootouts, betrayals, and an all-out turf war. And now the big question is whether Dwight's empire will survive long enough to face another round. Stallone's character, a veteran gangster rebuilding his life after spending 25 years behind bars, has spent three seasons turning Tulsa, Oklahoma, into a profitable criminal playground.
With a motley crew of loyalists at his side, Dwight transformed a once-sleepy operation into a thriving underworld network. But Season 3 pushed his organization into its most volatile chapter yet, primarily due to the arrival of Jeremiah Dunmire (Robert Patrick), a powerful liquor titan. Dunmire's interest in a small distillery that Dwight recently acquired ignites a brutal turf war that spirals far beyond Oklahoma's borders. Their clash eventually entangles the FBI and stirs long-dormant grudges from Dwight's past enemies in New York. By the time the dust settles, the General has won battles, but certainly not the war. So, what happens next? Is 'Tulsa King' officially returning?
Paramount+ renewed 'Tulsa King' for a fourth season just ahead of its season 3 premiere, as per RadioTimes. While a detailed plot synopsis for season 4 hasn't been released, fans can expect the next chapter to be shaped by executive producer Terence Winter. He returns to the writer's room after stepping away for season 3. Winter previously helped establish the show's tone and characters during its first two seasons. Also, several explosive storylines are poised to carry over into season 4. FBI Agent Musso remains a major threat. Meanwhile, the Renzetti crime family is still furious and eager to bury Dwight once and for all.
Another wild card is Kansas City crime lord Bill Bevilaqua (Frank Grillo). Though the character has been missing in action since being hauled away by federal agents, his return feels inevitable. Politics will also play a larger role in the future. Margaret (Dana Delany), Dwight's partner, spent much of season 3 shoring up support for Cal Thresher, a corrupt figure who has now ascended to the Oklahoma governorship. Her new proximity to power could be a blessing or a curse, especially with Thresher viewing Dwight as a liability rather than an ally. Furthermore, Paramount+ recently announced a spinoff titled 'NOLA King', starring Samuel L. Jackson.
Jackson’s character, Russell Lee Washington Jr., an aging hitman with a complicated history with Dwight, made his debut near the end of season 3. Sent by the Renzetti family to kill Dwight, he ultimately refuses due to an old prison debt and instead joins Dwight’s crew in taking down Dunmire. Before leaving Tulsa, Lee teases plans to build his own empire in New Orleans, while also inviting potential future crossovers, according to Entertainment Weekly. Of course, considering Quiet Ray and his New York assassins are still on his trail, his road to the Big Easy won't be smooth.
