AGOURA HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Kelsey Toussant, despite feeling a strong connection with Joey Graziadei and sensing that their bond was heading in a positive direction, faced unexpected elimination on 'The Bachelor' Season 28. It was surprising for viewers, as they also believed the connection between Kelsey and Joey was promising.

In her confessional, Kelsey expressed her biggest fear of not receiving a rose and not understanding the reasons behind it. "My biggest fear is I don’t get a rose, and I don’t even have the answers of why,” she said. Unfortunately, her fear turned into reality.

While Joey did pull Maria Georgas aside before handing out roses, allowing her to explain her insecurities after the group date, he didn't have conversations with anyone else.

Ultimately, both Jenn Tran and Kelsey were eliminated. Joey expressed appreciation for Kelsey before she left, leaving her eliminated just ahead of his hometown dates.

After her elimination, Kelsey left the scene in tears without uttering a word, visibly expressing her disappointment. During the last group date alongside Maria, Jenn, and Rachel Nance, she seemed notably unhappy but was unable to change the situation.

Before her elimination, Kelsey had a candid conversation with Joey, expressing that her feelings for him were stronger than his reciprocation. She admitted feeling uneasy about Joey's kiss with Jenn.

Additionally, Kelsey disclosed to Joey that if they were to progress to the hometown dates, she wouldn't be able to introduce him to her father, clarifying that their relationship needed more time and effort to develop fully for her to be able to make the two of them meet.

However, Joey sure had different plans in his head, as she didn't make it to the hometown date. "This is where it really starts to change,” Joey said to the other ladies after Kelsey's elimination.

Was 'The Bachelor' Season 28 star Kelsey Toussant engaged before?

Before joining the ABC show, Kelsey went through multiple heartbreaks, detailing in one episode that she had been in several long-term relationships and was even engaged to one of her exes.

Despite these challenging experiences, Kelsey remained resilient and expressed her readiness to give love another chance on the show. Unfortunately, her time onscreen was limited, and she had few quality dates with Joey during the season.

This left her with fewer opportunities to explore and develop a connection with the Bachelor.

Why did Kelsey Toussant from 'The Bachelor' Season 28 leave her religion?

Kelsey had a significant realization during high school when she decided to join a theatre class, shifting her focus away from the religious path she had been on. This change came about when she discovered her passion for the creative side of life.

Having come from a strict religious background, Kelsey acknowledged that she needed to break free from a mindset that had influenced her for more than half of her life. The shift allowed her to recognize that she had been somewhat isolated from society, a realization that prompted her to play catch-up in various aspects of life.

This included rebuilding relationships with family and friends and catching up on experiences like watching movies that were previously inaccessible to her. This period marked a transformative journey for Kelsey as she embraced a more diverse and open-minded approach to life.

"When high school came around, I joined a theatre class and that’s when I realized I wanted to pursue creativity for the rest of my life. At the same time, I was a full-blown Jehovah’s Witness and I knew the two couldn’t co-exist. So I decided to leave the religion and set my focus on attending California State University, Northridge," she explained.
