Why did Mauricio Umansky miss Kyle Richards' event? Sutton Stracke calls 'RHOBH' husband's absence at wife’s late friend’s memorial 'bluff'
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Sutton Stracke blames Mauricio Umansky for skipping Kyle Richards' late friend's funeral. Sutton expressed her thoughts on Mauricio's absence from Kyle's celebration in an official preview for 'The Real Housewives of Beverly' Season 13, Episode 12.
Kyle has been on a journey during Season 13 of 'RHOBH'. She's clean, determined to remain active and healthy, and has a new best friend, Morgan Wade.
Do you know what else Kyle owns? Problems with her marriage to Mauricio.
Kyle held a celebration of life for her dearest friend, Lorene Shea. Unfortunately, Lorene Shea took her own life.
Kyle's friends, 'RHOBH' co-stars, and family were present, but her spouse was not.
Kyle said in her confessional that Mo was unable to attend because he had to travel out of town for work. Had this happened a few years ago, "I would have really relied on him on a night like tonight."
Kyle paid Sutton a visit at her house. Sutton was concerned about Kyle and inquired about her well-being following the previous night's events.
Kyle felt great about it.
Of course, Sutton wanted to know why Mauricio wasn't there.
"He was in Mexico City," Kyle answered. "He was in Aspen, then Mexico City."
Not sufficient for Sutton.
"I’m not accepting the excuse that Mo is giving. Unless you are in the hospital, or dead in a ditch, you show up for your wife, and your wife’s dead, best friend’s family," Sutton said in her confessional!
In case you've been missing Mauricio, Kyle has announced that he'll be attending an event shortly. "He will be there at The Homeless Not Toothless event," Kyle went on to say.
'RHOBH' stars Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky confirm split
It's no secret that Kyle had a difficult year in 2023, as her personal life became the focus of endless rumors and conjecture. In July, news circulated that the Beverly Hills mother had separated from Mauricio after 27 years of marriage.
The husband and wife addressed the murmurs in a July 4 statement shared on Instagram, stating they had not considered formal separation.
"In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue," the note stated in part.
"However, yes, we have had a rough year. The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously."
"There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part," the statement read.
"Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative."
Following split from Mauricio Umansky, 'RHOBH's Kyle Richards looks back on 'tough' year
Kyle is feeling very "grateful" these days. Following an outpouring of birthday wishes, the 'RHOBH' OG took the time to provide an honest and optimistic report on her general health.
Kyle shared a small Instagram video from a yoga session at Susurros del Corazón, a luxurious Mexican resort where she spent her birthday with a few close friends. Kyle's January 13 post contained a lengthy statement in which she referred to her life changes for 2023, such as her choice to give up drinking and her ongoing split from Mauricio.
“My trips to Mexico look a little different these days,” she captioned the Instagram video. “While I may not be drinking margaritas by the pool, I am laughing with friends and taking care of myself.”

She added, “This last year has been challenging but I am grateful that I have the strength to do the things that make me feel good. I have always been my worst critic but now I am appreciative of my body and all that it has carried me through. To wake up feeling physically good every day is a gift I don’t take for granted.”
Kyle also thanked the staff at Susurros del Corazón, her yoga instructor, Alina, and everyone who sent her beautiful words on her big day.
"I am feeling extra grateful for my family & friends," she stated. "Thank you all for your birthday wishes."
After spending birthday away from Mauricio Umansky, 'RHOBH's Kyle Richards goes ring shopping with Morgan Wade
Kyle and Morgan enjoyed some one-on-one time shopping for rings on the reality star’s birthday. On January 11, the 'RHOBH' star and the singer were photographed exploring a Tiffany & Co. jewelry store in Beverly Hills, California.
Kyle leaned over a glass jewelry case inside the store as Morgan shopped. The two "very close" buddies wore black puffer coats.
Morgan, on the other hand, had a rainbow-colored dawn on the back of her garment. Kyle and Morgan's winter attire follows a week-long vacation in Punta Mita, Mexico.
The Bravolebrity and the "Wilder Days" singer were spotted enjoying the sun with other friends to celebrate Kyle's birthday.
Mauricio was noticeably missing during the mother-of-four's festive holiday. However, the billionaire did set aside some time to wish his estranged wife a happy birthday.
Season 13 of 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on Bravo. New episodes will be available the next day on Peacock.
