The upcoming season will adapt 'Gone Tomorrow', the thirteenth novel in Lee Child's long-running bestseller streak. Released in May 2009, 'Gone Tomorrow' stands out in the book series for how quickly it pulls Reacher into problems. No long build-up. No slow burn. Just a bizarre suicide witnessed on a New York subway platform that smells wrong. Reacher, who has built an entire philosophy around noticing what other people miss, can't shake the feeling that the woman's death doesn't add up.
And once he starts asking questions, the answers get ugly fast. The show is introducing one of the most vicious adversaries Reacher has ever crossed paths with. Her name is Lila Hoth, and calling her dangerous almost feels like understating the situation. Unless Prime Video decides to change direction, Hoth will be the main villain standing in Reacher's way. In the source material, she isn't just a criminal mastermind or a shadowy operator pulling strings from afar. She is a terrorist leader with a taste for cruelty.
