MIAMI, FLORIDA: Guerdy Abraira is remembering her late brother Emmanuel.

'The Real Housewives of Miami' star recently took to her Instagram page to share a personal tragic story about her older brother Emmanuel, who died in an earthquake in the year 2010.

Emmanuel's two daughters, Kofie-Jade, 7, and Zenzie, 5, were also victims of the earthquake, meanwhile, his wife Emily, and their one-year-old daughter Alyahna survived.

Abraira started by writing, "WE WILL NEVER BREAK! Though today is a very sad day for many Haitian people including my family after losing my older brother and 2 of his 3 daughters 14 years ago in the earthquake, the blessing from this tragedy is in this photo - his youngest daughter Alyhana @imanijmusic survived, and was found in my brother's arms."

The reality TV star further added, "SHE represents his legacy to the fullest with all of his traits - she is athletic and very musical just like he was. We are grateful to his widow Emily who is raising her so well in New Zealand and helping her achieve her goal to become a singer (she writes all her lyrics)."

She concluded, "I love this 'girl power' photo which we took last year when they visited Miami. OUR resilience is unbreakable! @imanijmusic You are already on magazine covers, winning back-to-back talent competitions, and have multiple songs already on Spotify, you are definitely your father's daughter- so proud of you!"

In a separate post, Guerdy wrote, "It’s been 14 years since that awful day - We miss you all so much and will never forget you.."

'RHOM’ star Guerdy Abraira wants to launch a charity to honor her brother’s legacy

In Season 5 of 'RHOM', Guerdy Abraira expressed her desire to set up a charity in memory of her late brother and nieces.

Then, Abraira mentioned that Emmanuel's widow, Emily, had already established her own charity called Kenbe La Foundation, which aims to support Emmanuel and his family.

At that point, Guerdy revealed that "Kenbe La" means "never give up" in Haitian.

The mom of two later promoted this initiative on her personal blog, Keeping It Personally Guerdy.

Who are ‘RHOM’ star Guerdy Abraira’s parents?

Prior to becoming a Bravolebrity, Guerdy experienced a nomadic childhood. She resided in her native Haiti until the age of 1, after which her parents, aiming to provide better opportunities for Guerdy and her brother Emmanuel, relocated to Paris.

After spending some time in Paris, Guerdy's family relocated to Miami. Currently, she operates a luxury party business named Guerdy Design in the city. Despite residing in Miami, her Haitian parents consistently instill a sense of her Caribbean heritage, and Guerdy has engaged in mission trips to Haiti.

Guerdy has gleaned crucial insights about maintaining a successful marriage from her parents. In May 2023, she took to Instagram to commemorate her parents' 53rd wedding anniversary.

The TV personality mentioned that her parents' "unconditional love" showed her the kind of marriage she wanted with Russell, her high school sweetheart.

"Happy 53rd Wedding Anniversary to my Parents who have been such a great example of showing us what resilient and unconditional love truly is! Now…WHO DO I LOOK LIKE?" she wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.
