LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The global release date for 'Obsession', a new British erotic thriller mini-series, has been revealed by Netflix. The mini-series is set to release on April 13, 2023, ans the program will be available to stream on Netflix.

The miniseries' screenplay was written by Morgan Lloyd-Malcolm and Benji Walters, and it was directed by Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D'Sa. Gina Carter is the series' producer, and Matthew Read, Frith Tiplady, and Alison Jackson of Gaumont Film Company, serve as the executive producers.

The show's premise centers a London surgeon, who has a passionate relationship with his son's fiance and develops an obsession that has the potential to drastically alter their lives. ‘Obsession’ is based on the same-titled novel by Josephine Hart. Also, it was previously turned into a live-action feature movie in 1992 by Warner Bros. The mini-series is anticipated to consist of three or four one-hour episodes, giving it a runtime that is comparable to a lengthy theatrical film. Throughout the months of April and June last year, the show was taped in London.

Richard Armitage

The 51-year-old actor is also an author by profession. Richard Armitage's first role as John Thornton in the 2004 British television series 'North & South' earned him fame in the UK. International acclaim was bestowed upon him for his performance as dwarf king and leader Thorin Oakenshield in Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' film trilogy.



 

Charlie Murphy

Charlie Murphy's portrays Anna in 'Obsession'. As Anna strives to maintain both of her relationships—she is already engaged to William's son Martyn—the truth will eventually come out, and someone will be wounded. The Irish actress has experience in theater, television, and motion pictures. Siobhan Delaney was the character played by the 34-year-old in the RTE drama series, 'Love/Hate', for which she won Best TV Actress at the 2013 Irish Cinema and Television Award as well as Best Actress in a Lead Role at the 2015 Irish Film and Television Awards. In 2017, she took home two more IFTA Awards for her performance as Ann Gallagher in the BBC One drama series, 'Happy Valley'.



 

Indira Varma

William's wife, Ingrid, played by Indira Varma, is unaware that he is being sucked into an obsessive phase. 'Kama Sutra: A Story of Love' saw Varna's first significant acting role and cinematic debut. She later made appearances in the television shows like 'Rome', 'Luther', 'Human Target', and 'The Canterbury Tales'. She debuted as DS Nina Suresh in the ITV/Netflix series, 'Paranoid', in September 2016. Further, she portrayed Ellaria Sand in 'Game of Thrones'.
