LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The latest action-flick 'Kandahar' featuring Gerard Butler is all set for a worldwide release on May 26, 2023.

'Kandahar' is based on the personal experiences of the film's writer, Mitchell LaFortune, who served as a military intelligence officer in Afghanistan after the Snowden leaks. The movie aims to offer a unique perspective on the events surrounding Edward Snowden's intelligence leaks in 2013. The film has gained attention for being one of the first significant Hollywood productions to be entirely filmed in Saudi Arabia's Al-Ula and Jeddah. 'Kandahar' is an action-thriller that follows the story of a CIA operative, and it promises to be an exciting cinematic experience for audiences.

Who stars in 'Kandahar'?

Gerard Butler, who produces and stars in 'Kandahar', plays Tom Harris, an undercover CIA operative in Afghanistan. He is accompanied by Navid Negahban, an Afghan translator, as they evade special forces. Negahban's character may pose a plot twist. The Iranian-American actor has appeared in various shows like '24' and 'Homeland'.

Ali Fazal, known for his roles in 'Victoria & Abdul' and 'Death on the Nile', will also star in 'Kandahar'. His character is speculated to be an assassin for the Afghan special forces. The film also includes Olivia-Mai Barrett, Bahador Foladi, Nina Toussaint-White, and Travis Fimmel in undisclosed roles.
