'Kandahar': Release date and how to watch the new action-thriller

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The art of performing action stunts in a movie is known to give actors a unique voice and presence as their characters. Hollywood's upcoming film 'Kandahar' is a prime example of an action-thriller that follows the story of a CIA operative, providing an opportunity for the lead actor to showcase their skills and leave a lasting impression. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, who previously worked on films such as 'National Champions' and 'Angel Has Fallen', and written by Mitchell LaFortune, whose most recent project was 'Burn Run', 'Kandahar' promises to be an intense and exciting cinematic experience for action movie enthusiasts. 

The majority of 'Kandahar's filming began in Saudi Arabia on December 2, 2021. This made the movie the first high-profile American production to film in Jeddah and Al-Ula. The film stars some brilliant actors like Navid Negahban, Ali Fazal, and Olivia-Mai Barrett ('Penny on MARS')

When will 'Kandahar' release?

Open Road Films secured the North American distribution rights to the film 'Kandahar' in a significant deal worth millions of dollars on September 21, 2022. The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2023, and on January 26, 2023, the production and distribution company announced a Memorial Weekend premiere date for 'Kandahar'. Therefore, the much-awaited action-thriller will hit theaters on May 26, 2023, promising to offer audiences an exhilarating cinematic experience.

How to watch 'Kandahar'? 

The action-packed film is now set to premiere in theaters on May 26, 2023 'Kandahar' is expected to face tough competition upon its release as other major films are also scheduled to premiere on May 26. These include Disney's live-action adaptation of 'The Little Mermaid', Sony's 'The Machine', and the comedy About 'My Father' starring Sebastian Maniscalco and Robert De Niro.

The first-look images of 'Kandahar' were unveiled on February 10, 2023, generating excitement among fans of action movies. A week later, on February 16, 2023, Open Road Films released an action-packed trailer for the movie on its official YouTube channel.
