SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Netflix is set to release a new romantic comedy K-drama, 'Frankly Speaking,' on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

Directed by Jang Ji Yeon, renowned for 'Nevertheless,' and written by Choi Kyung, the mind behind 'CHIP-IN,' 'Frankly Speaking' follows the life of a 33-year-old single man working at a broadcasting station.

The official synopsis of the series reads, "A well-respected announcer suddenly loses his ability to self-censor on air, catching the attention of a TV writer who invites him on her variety show."

Go Kyung-pyo, a famous South Korean actor and comedian, takes on the pivotal role of Song Ki-baek in 'Frankly Speaking.'

Song Ki-baek is a 33-year-old announcer at Ultra FM. His professional life is impeccable, characterized by a charismatic on-air persona that draws listeners in. However, behind this facade lies a more complex reality.

He develops a disorder that causes him to speak without thinking, leading him to appear on a love variety show.

Go Kyung-pyo rose to fame through his notable performances in 'Reply 1988,' 'Don't Dare to Dream,' and 'Chicago Typewriter.' 

He made his acting debut in 2010 and was a cast member of 'Saturday Night Live Korea.' He also starred in series like 'Standby,' 'My Cute Guys,' and 'Naeil's Cantabile.'

Joo Jong-hyuk, renowned for his role in 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', plays Kim Jung-heon in Netflix's series 'Frankly Speaking'.

Kim Jung-heon is a prominent entertainer who also happens to be On Woo-ju's ex-boyfriend and Song Ki-baek's high school classmate.

In the series, Kim Jung-heon's character becomes intertwined with the lives of On Woo-ju and Song Ki-baek.

Joo Jong-hyuk started his acting career in independent films before moving on to more prominent roles. His mainstream debut came in 2018 with a minor role in JTBC's 'My ID Is Gangnam Beauty.'
