SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 moved to its first live episode of the latest instalment and the Top 14 contenders of the singing competition. The ABC show host revealed the Top 10 while judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan saved wildcard aspiring singers.
However, the Top 20 contestants performed during the Top 14 reveal to celebrate their 'victory' or earn judges' save. The episode was filled with emotional moments, stirring performances and an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction. Katy's top which was hung with the string was broken during Roman Collins' performance. The singer needed a pillow to cover her top.
The ABC show Top 14 Reveal Night bids adieu to six aspiring singers. The viewers did not appreciate the Top 14 results as they claimed that some of the deserving singers were eliminated. Ryan revealed that 25 million votes were cast which advanced the top 14 contestants to the next round.

McKenna Faith Breinholt
McKenna Faith Breinholt delivered a soulful performance on Nowhere Man and Whiskey GIrl's song, 'Tumbleweed' which helped her to grab a spot in the Top 14. The aspiring singer dedicated her performance to her late birth mother.
Jack Blocker
'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Jack Blocker earned enough votes to directly advance to the Top 14. He celebrated his victory with Post Malone's song, 'Feeling Whitney'. However, Jack admitted to Ryan Seacrest that he was surprised to find himself safe.
Mia Matthews
Mia Matthews was safe and earned a spot in the Top 14. She performed 'Burning House' by Cam and her mother and sister were in the audience to support her. However, she had an embarrassing moment before her performance. Ryan went backstage to talk to the contestants before he revealed the next result. Mia walked right past him and onto the stage but turned around after Ryan announced her name multiple times.
Kayko
Kayko performed another original song 'What If' after he was announced to be in the Top 14. He has impressed the ABC show judges with his songwriting skills and recently received praise from host Ryan. He called Kayko the "king of originals."
Will Moseley
'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Will Moseley was safe and didn't have to face the danger zone drama. he celebrated his achievement with his chart-topping original song, 'Gone For Good'.
Abi Carter
Abi Carter performed Yebba's song My Mind to celebrate earning viewers' support and votes which advanced her to Top 14. Katy Perry enjoyed the aspiring singer's performance and sang along in the judges' panel.

Kaibrienne aka KB was quite emotional after she was advanced to the Top 14. The aspiring singer performed The Cranberries' song 'Zombie'. During the emotional performance, KB struggled to get the perfect pitch but the judges supported her in completing her performance.
Emmy Russell
'American Idol' Season 22 contestant and Loretta Lynn's granddaughter, Emmy Russell, advanced to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame round. The aspiring singer arrived at the ABC show stage barefoot. She celebrated her achievement with her original song, Skinny'. She wrote the song about her personal struggle with eating disorders.
Julia Gagnon
'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Julia Gagnon was surprised after she found out that she was safe despite her not so 'best' performance. The platinum ticket winner performed 'Need a Favor' by Jelly Roll during the latest round.

During the episode, award-winning singer Meghan Trainor will serve as the guest mentor and performer. The iconic theme night will also invite KISS star Gene Simmons to guide the Top 14.
