SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 Top 24 contestants performed during two exciting Disney nights. The contestants were divided into two groups and mentored by different talented and award-winning singers. Jelly Roll mentored the twelve aspiring singers during Disney night and two of them were eliminated during the latest episode.
ABC show host Ryan Seacrest created some suspense before revealing that Odell Bunton Jr bagged the last remaining spot in the Top 20 from Jelly's team. Meanwhile, Elleigh Marie and KBlocks failed to advance to the next round and were eliminated after their Disney Week performances.
Although the ABC show viewers were excited for Odell's future, they were disappointed by Elleigh's elimination. A social media user commented, "He deserved this but ELLIE😭." Another internet user penned, "He’s great but I’m gonna miss Elleigh." Another X user tweeted, "Y’all did elleigh dirty." Another person added, "Elleigh Marie #AmericanIdol You should've been in Top 20!!"

Odell Bunton Jr performs Teddy Swims' song
'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Odell Bunton Jr performed Teddy Swims' song 'The Door'. The guest performer Teddy was in the audience and shouted after Odell's performance, "That was disgusting!" Teddy joked that he was going to retire that song from his set because Odell nailed it.
The aspiring singer also received praise from the judges. Lionel Richie noted Odell was singing for his family. Katy Perry added, "You have the ability to move people. That’s everything." She added, "I just love this show. Because it represents hope and love." Luke Bryan noted, "How is this my job? This is when God said it should happen."
Before leaving the stage, Odell looked into the camera and tearfully promised his kids that he was doing it all for them. Just before his performance, Odell's five kids and asked America to vote for their dad. Odell's elder son, Marcell, praised his dad's struggle and noted, "He's gone through a lot but he's still pushing."
Elleigh Marie reflects on 'American Idol' Season 22 journey
'American Idol' Season 22 aspiring singer Elleigh Marie had to bid adieu to the ABC show after she failed to grab a spot in the Top 20 contestants. However, Elleigh was hopeful for her future and claimed that her journey was not over amid the elimination.
Elleigh took to her Instagram and posted a photo of herself reflecting on her ABC show journey. The aspiring singer wrote, "I don’t even know how to start this haha. This has quite literally been the coolest thing I’ve ever done & experienced. My American idol family has been such a blessing."
Elleigh further noted, "Top 24 was pretty cool ;) love you all, thank you so much for the support!!" She concluded her post noting, "But… Stay tuned because my journey is not over."
'American Idol' Season 22 airs on Sundays and Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
