LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jayna Elise Brown is one of the reported 'American Idol' Season 22 Golden Ticket winners. She will be one of the artists returning to Idol following a strong performance in Season 21.
Jayna is well-versed in the performing arts and has demonstrated her skills in the areas of song, dance, and acting. Jayna has had piano, dance, voice, and acting classes.
Now she will returns to the Idol stage just a year after missing out on her chances to win the title. Jayna's audition is slated to air on ABC on Sunday, March 24, with the original coaching team of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan hailing the judging table.
Who is Jayna Elise on 'American Idol' Season 22?
Jayne, who also goes by the name Jayne Elise Brown, originally belongs to Baltimore-Washington but currently is a resident of Los Angeles. Jayna started singing as a passion when she was just 4.
But decided to transform her passion into her career when she was 10. Jayne has been singing and writing songs since a young age and attended the Duke Ellington School of the Arts High School.
Notably, Jayna credited her high school for helping her to develop her artistry. Jayna made her singing debut with a three-track EP, 'Flowers and Petals' in 2020.
Her credit includes, 'Lionheart' which was released in the fall of 2021. Janya has also collaborated with LA producer Kosta Lois for a dance video titled 'More.'
Additionally, Boyz II Men reshared Jayne's cover of 'End of the Road' with Kyng Music, and Avli Music. Besides singing, Jayna has also done a bit of acting.
She is also a social media sensation. Jayna appeared in Tyler Perry's film, 'Madea’s Neighbors from Hell.' Jayne has worked under the Brill Building publishing label and is set to try her luck to become the next singing sensation.
Jayna Elise got eliminated from 'American Idol' season 21 following Showstopper Round
Jayna auditioned in week 6 of 'American Idol' Season 21. ABC network released the first-look photos of the singing sensation.
Jayna looked stunning in a black leather jacket paired with flared jeans. Jayna also shared her excitement on her social media.
She shared a carousel of photos flaunting different quirky poses for the cameras. Alongside the photos, Jayna simply teased, "It’s happeninggg!!!! Catch me on American Idol this Sunday at 7/8c."
She shared a follow-up selfie, captioning, "That Idol Glow! Don’t forget to tune in this Sunday at 8/7c to catch ya girl 🤭💛."
Jayna, 22, of Washington, DC, stunned the judges with a rendition of Queen's "Who Wants to Live Forever" at last year's auditions. Lionel liked her on-stage presence.
Jayna should have received a gold star for drama defusion during the Hollywood Week duets. She and her partner, Summer Joy, accepted Adin Boyer into their group after he suffered an anxiety crisis due to a lack of a companion.
When her partner pulled out at the last minute, she stepped in to perform alongside Fire Wilmore. Jayna advanced to the Top 55 showstopper round.
However, Idol did not telecast her performance, and she did not make it to the Top 26.
Jayna Elise won Louis Tomlinson's Golden Buzzer in 'America's Got Talent' Season 11
Jayne came to the Idol stage with previous singing expertise. Jayna appeared on Season 11 of 'America's Got Talent' at the age of 14, in 2016.
Her rendition of Andra Day's "Rise Up" received a Golden Buzzer from judge and former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson. Versions of that performance have received more than 4 million views on YouTube.
