Luke Bryan asks Ajii to not 'yell' too much
Luke Bryan appreciated Ajii's high energy on stage but cautioned him not to overdo it with too much yelling. As Lionel Richie affectionately referred to Ajii as "Mr. Feelgood," praising his ability to uplift the audience, Katy Perry admired Ajii's song choices and how he pushes his vocals in each performance.
Luke commented, "There was a lot of energy. Great job," quickly adding, "Don't get too yelly." In his last performance, the 27-year-old from Brooklyn, New York sang "Like a Stone" by Audioslave, rocking out with powerful vocals.
Ajii wanted to make his father proud
Ahead of his elimination, Ajii expressed his desire to make his father proud, emphasizing that pursuing his dream on American Idol wa not just his own aspiration but also his father's. He highlighted his father's dedication to supporting the family, noting that despite his busy work schedule, his father has been cheering for him from afar.
Ajii reflected on his father's sacrifices and hard work, acknowledging that his father's presence on the show is limited due to his commitments but emphasizing his unwavering support and encouragement. "He's taking care of the family, so he hasn't had time to get off his job to come to 'American Idol' but he's rooting," he said.
