'The Masked Singer' Season 14 pulls off a double elimination as Stingray and 14 Karat Carrot are unmasked
Season 14 Episode 10 of ‘The Masked Singer’, titled ‘Star Trek Night’, aired on March 18 and shook things up a bit. A double exit caught a few viewers off guard, even though the tension had been building all episode. By the end, 14 Karat Carrot and Stingray's identities were finally revealed. First up, 14 Karat Carrot. Underneath that slightly bizarre yet charming costume was none other than Greg Mathis. Yes, the one known for presiding over real-life disputes is now belting classics on primetime TV. His final song choice leaned into feel-good territory, as he took on ‘Shining Star’ by Earth, Wind & Fire.
Before that, he tried his hand at tracks like ‘Hold On, I’m Comin’ by Sam & Dave and ‘Tainted Love’, originally by Gloria Jones. The panel was all over the place with their guesses, but Robin Thicke nailed it by guessing correctly. Meanwhile, Ken Jeong tossed out Steve Harvey, while Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed Randy Jackson, and Rita Ora went with Craig Robinson. Then came Stingray, and this one was not exactly a mystery by the end. Under the aquatic getup was Evan Ross, the son of the iconic Diana Ross. That last clue pretty much gave it away: a plaque reading like a heartfelt message from “Mother Supreme.”
Ross himself got a bit reflective, revealing, “I had a guiding light early in my life, and now my wife is my sun and my shining moon in my life.” His final performance was ‘Starboy’ by The Weeknd. Before that, he took on ‘Stayin’ Alive’ by Bee Gees, ‘Momma Song’ by Benson Boone, and ‘Bad Habits’ by Ed Sheeran. And the panel this time was sharp. All four judges landed on Ross, especially once that final clue dropped. With their reveals, Evan Ross (Stingray) and Greg Mathis (14 Karat Carrot) now join a growing list of unmasked names this season.
This includes Alexi Lalas (High Voltage), Jack Wagner (Eggplant), Heidi Montag (Snow Cone), Billy Ray Cyrus (Owl), Teddi Mellencamp (Calla Lily), Claudia Oshry (Queen Corgi), Taraji P. Henson (Scarab), Tone Loc (Handyman), Tiffany Haddish (Le Who Who), Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley (Croissants), along with David Ortiz, aka Big Papi (Googly Eyes). All of them have already been sent home. Now, with two more contestants out, the competition is getting even more intense. The remaining contestants, including Pangolin, Galaxy Girl, Cat Witch, Pugcasso, and Crane, are still in the running. And if this episode proved anything, it’s that nobody’s spot is safe.
