Season 21 of 'American Idol' is here, and the search for the next musical sensation is underway with the judges, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie. The auditions are in full swing and have already revealed some highly-talented contestants, who have advanced to the next round. Among the fresh faces appearing this week is Rach Lux Karma, a frontwoman of two metal bands.

Connecticut metal band vocalist Karma applied to various singing competitions before but this is the first time she had made it to the next stage. It will be a treat to witness how her singing style, which is heavy and screamo, will be a part of this singing competition. Even though she has been in and out of many bands since she was 15, music has always been her passion and she has already made a few notable strides in the musical industry. Who is Rach Lux Karma?

Connecticut's very own rockstar, Karma is set to take the 'American Idol' auditions by storm this weekend. This fiery vocalist hails from Newington but now calls Guilford her home. When the online auditions rolled around, she was residing in Hartford, and knew this was her chance to make it big. She is the frontwoman of two local bands: NEVERMØUЯИ, which delivers theatrical, symphonic Goth metal performances, and Evil Twin, that mostly does covers. NEVERMØUЯИ's latest show, 'Rite of Truth', has been receiving rave reviews, and their debut single 'Release the Demons' dropped in January. Evil Twin showcases her versatility as she takes on male vocalists' iconic songs. The band's repertoire includes covers of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Anthrax, Korn and even the Swedish death metal band Arch Enemy.

Karma is no stranger to hosting events and shows. She recently hosted the upstairs Lilly's Pad events at Toad's Place in New Haven during the annual Opus Birthday Bash metal extravaganza in January. Additionally, she organized a 'Macabre Variety Show' in October 2022, which raised funds for True Colors United and the Human Rights Fund at another New Haven club, The State House. For those who can't get enough of her electrifying performances, her bands have several upcoming shows across Connecticut, including Evil Twin's gig on April 15 at the Cellar on Treadwell in Hamden and NEVERMØUЯИ's performance on April 22 at Cherry Street Station in Wallingford.

Rach Lux Karma's debut in 'American Idol' Season 21

Karma first participated in the virtual audition for 'American Idol', where she performed Paramore's hit track 'Misery Business' alongside her guitarist, Matt Landusky, and was elated when she progressed through five rounds of judges' approval. After a lengthy wait, she received an email informing her of her destination for the next phase of the competition, which turned out to be Las Vegas. Despite spending a couple of days in Las Vegas with Landusky, she was mostly occupied with filming from 9am to 6pm and could not explore the city. Although 'Misery Business' was a hit in her virtual audition, Karma had to select a different song for her live audition, the details of which has not been revealed yet.

Her powerful and distinctive voice delivers not only an energetic performance but also showcases her incredible vocal range. She will be performing in front of the three judges Richie, Bryan and Perry on March 12.

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday on ABC at 8 pm ET.
