Who is Olivia Alboher? TikTok dancer proves 'SYTYCD' Season 18 judge Maks wrong with flawless contemporary moves
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: 'So You Think You Can Dance' Season 18 contestant Olivia Alboher is a dancer, model, singer and actress. She has been performing at a very young age. She has also flaunted her self-choreographed dancing moves at the American Dance Awards gala in 2023 as a guest performer.
According to Olivia's LinkedIn, she resides in New York and pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Commercial Dance as a major from Pace University.
She is a Fashion and fitness enthusiast and a social media influencer with 140k followers on Instagram. Olivia recently took her dancing talent to the Fox show 'So You Think You Can Dance' leaving an indelible mark with a stellar performance.
During the introductory video, Olivia claimed to be a TikTok dancer which sparked doubts among the judges especially, Maksim Chmerkovskiy aka Maks. However, following her flawless performance, Olivia garnered high praise from Maks, who was thoroughly impressed with her contemporary dance skills.
The Fox show judge said, "You said you are a TikTok dancer and I'm like here we go again. She's definitely not gonna fill this stage but I was so wrong." He complimented, "This was an amazing performance."

'So You Think You Can Dance' Season 18 contestant Olivia Alboher moved to the next round of the FOX show after receiving three affirming yes votes. Judge Allison Holker called Olivia whimsical and suggested it was 'beautiful' how she floated and used the stage.
Comfort Fedoke simply said she enjoyed her performance and was impressed by her split into grand plie.
Meanwhile, Maks shared his advice with Olivia and said, "You know for me, you better be focused on this 110. Make this your professional direction..." Olivia assured the judge that dance would be the top priority from now onwards.
However, after Olivia left the audition room, Maks noted her performance as "High-level stuff and not at all a social media performance."
Olivia Alboher bags 'Young Choreographer' awards
Olivia Alboher is a professional dancer as well as a choreographer and has bagged multiple awards for her amazing talent. In 2023, the FOX show contestant won America’s Young Choreographer of the Year. The performer took to her Instagram and shared a series of photos with the trophy.
Alongside the photo, she also reflected on her journey and noted, "Wow! Feeling so grateful after coming back to ADA nationals this year! This week has been nothing short of amazing and inspiring!"
She added, "This piece will always hold a special place in my heart🫶🏻 Love all of my dancers so much, so proud of you, “This is A Life” ❣️" Besides this, Olivia has previously won four titles in the Young, Junior, Teen, and Senior age divisions at the 'American Dance Awards' competition.
'SYTYCD' Season 18 premiered on March 4 at 9/8c on FOX. The new episodes will be premiering every Monday at the same time.
