'Jeopardy!' has a new champion in town, and he returned for his sophomore outing on April 28. Chess master Greg Shahade stunned everyone when he used aggressive wagering to dethrone Jamie Ding after an impressive streak of 31 games. In Tuesday's episode, Shahade faced off against Alice Jiang, a student from California, and Chris Argento, a high school teacher from New Jersey. Argento and Shahade kept things tight right until the Final Jeopardy round. The wagers put in the final round ultimately became the deciding factor in Tuesday's game. Read on to find out whether Shahade maintained his reign after facing the clue from the 'Playwrights' category in the Final Jeopardy round, or perished at the hands of a new victor.

Throughout the game, Shahade gave 20 correct answers. Also, he displayed strong first-on-buzzer pacing performance, as he rang in first 19 out of 57 times. Argento came in second with 17 correct responses, while Jiang gave ten right answers. Unlike the previous episode, Shahade could not master Daily Doubles to sail to victory. Instead, he lost $6,000 on one. It led Shahade to enter the Final Jeopardy round with just $12,400, slightly ahead of Argento's $10,800. Jiang entered the final round with $6,000 to her name. It all came down to the final clue between Shahade and Argento.

Shahade went in with an aggressive strategy and bet $9,201. The chess master ensured that if he turned in the right answer, Argento would not be able to surpass his amount in any circumstance. Argento played it subtly and wagered $1,601, which would give him just $1 more than Shahade's current amount. Essentially, he was banking on Shahade losing the final round. Jiang, with nothing to lose, put in $3,200. Fans waited with bated breath as the final clue appeared on screen. It read,  “When she was 7, her family moved to the mostly white Chicago neighborhood of Woodlawn, leading to attacks & a Supreme Court case.” All three got it correct with, "Who is Lorraine Hansberry?" This left Shahade with $21,601, Argento with $12,401, and Jiang with $10,800.

These winnings meant Shahade would continue his run as the champion. The new victor has already become the talk of the town after dethroning America's sweetheart Jamie Ding in dominating fashion, and his nervous antics before every answer. The chess master shared on Instagram that his mother inspired his foray into the game show. Shahade will return to defend his title on the Wednesday episode of the game show. 'Jeopardy!' is a syndicated show that streams on Hulu.
