Before her performance, Elleigh candidly shared that she had been facing relationship issues following her breakup. She chose to sing 'Forget You' by CeeLo Green, explaining to Jelly Roll that she selected the song because she was dealing with "boy problems."
During her performance, Elleigh revealed that she had recently been cheated on, dedicating the performance to the person who betrayed her trust. Despite her emotional turmoil, Elleigh expressed frustration, saying, "Maybe I would've been able to pick something more heartfelt if I wasn't so pissed."
Katy Perry calls Elleigh's performance "full of layers"
Katy was all praises for Elleigh after her stellar performance, adding how she was beginning to see a new side of Elleigh. “I’ve never seen you work it like that. You’ve always sung like a ballad. It’s always been beautiful but are there more dimensions? Girl, you are like full-on layers.”
Lionel too added in, as he felt it when Elleigh attacked the audience with her performance. “Your performance began when you took that microphone off that stand and you came and attacked the audience. Everybody said, ‘Oh, my God.’ I want you to remember one thing. Don’t think about what you’re doing. There are moments when I saw you thinking, ‘Am I going the right way?’ Forget about it. Enjoy your audience’s performance. They’re watching you. You’re watching them. Party together. It was a great, great performance," Lionel said.
Elleigh reveals she never took singing "seriously"
During her audition, Elleigh revealed that she had never taken singing seriously due to the nature of her father's military career, which resulted in frequent moves. Katy Perry asked Elleigh if she had ever considered pursuing singing seriously, to which Elleigh responded that she had thought about it extensively. However, with her father frequently absent and the constant relocation, it was challenging to commit to a musical career.
Elleigh explained, "It's just that my dad has been gone a lot like we were actually thinking that I might have to move back home." This uncertainty about her family's future placed her at a crossroads in her life.
