PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: In the third episode of Season 19 of 'America's Got Talent', Sofia Vergara was thoroughly impressed by the dynamic dance group Legion, prompting her to award them her coveted Golden Buzzer.

The group's audition was nothing short of spectacular, as they elevated their performance by setting their shoes on fire and integrating intense choreography with whips and drums. The energy and passion displayed by Legion on stage left both the audience and judges in complete awe.

This Golden Buzzer not only secured them a spot in the highly-anticipated live shows but also cemented their status as one of the standout acts of the competition. However, some fans believed that Sofia's decision to press the Golden Buzzer for the Argentinian dance group might not have been the best choice.

On X, one fan wrote, "Don't agree sorry. They wore fire-protected foot wear, right?" Another added, "So besides the fire what was golden buzzer worthy?" One fan wrote, "That's what am I saying because all they did was move their feet so I don't get it at all."

Another fan said, "Not saying there was zero skill involved but questioning if it was golden buzzer worthy. Cheers. Enjoy the show." "What a waste of gold buzzer. Almost all the previous acts were more deserving. What a sham," wrote another fan.

Why did Sofia Vergara give her Golden Buzzer to Legion?

Following Legion's performance, Sofia Vergara commended the group, expressing her admiration for their talent and unique style.

"I guess all the Judges are so like fascinated with you guys. You know, I'm South American. I have seen this dance many times. For me, you guys have to do something spectacular," Sofia told the group.

Then, the crowd booed the judge. Soon after, the room was filled with silence and then, she added, "That was spectacular. I thought it was amazing. I have never seen anything like that."

Sofia pressed the coveted Golden Buzzer, triggering a cascade of glittering confetti raining down from above as the group embraced each other, overwhelmed with emotion and tears of joy.

As Vergara joined the group on stage, 'AGT' host Terry Crews gave her the microphone. She looked at the crowd and said, "This is exactly what we’re here for. This is exactly AGT. This might change these guys' lives, and I love to be a part of it.”

Before the outstanding performance, excitement, and anticipation filled the air with Simon Cowell inquiring about the significance of the $1 million prize money to the group.
