LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Oscars 2024 ceremony took an unexpected turn when John Cena, slated to present the Best Costume Award, surprised everyone by walking on stage nude. In a viral video, host Jimmy Kimmel playfully hinted at Cena's unconventional entrance. Despite Cena's initial hesitation, Kimmel encouraged and eventually persuaded him to step out without clothes to present the award, as Cena quipped, "Costumes … they are so important."

Cena stepped out from the corner of the stage  John Cena did, indeed, step onto the stage with only a sizable envelope concealing his private parts, triggering uproarious laughter from the audience. Struggling to open the envelope without revealing too much, a swift cut occurred, and Cena re-emerged in a golden toga resembling a curtain.

Netizens were both shocked and surprised by John Cena's unexpected nude stage appearance, and the moment quickly became a viral sensation on the internet. However, the internet also swiftly drew comparisons between Cena's naked onstage walk and the infamous Janet Jackson fiasco at the Super Bowl in 2004. While Cena's stunt was welcomed with humor, the 2004 incident involved Justin Timberlake exposing Janet Jackson's right breast, had faced a barrage of negative remarks for what many deemed highly indecent.

The internet highlighted the double standard in reactions, noting that Janet Jackson was criticized and labeled indecent for the Super Bowl incident, while John Cena's naked walk was met with acceptance and humor. "Yet YT America was pissed about Janet Jackson's little wardrobe malfunction at the Superbowl!! WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE," a critic too to twitter to comment. "So it’s okay for him to do this but Janet gets in trouble for having wardrobe malfunction. Tv has only privileges for white people," said another.

"I can guarantee you that white people will not protest the #Oscars they way they protester the #SuperBowl when Janet Jackson had a wardrobe malfunction," added another. Comparisons continued as many found it absurd that Janet was almost 'exiled' for her apparent 'nip-slip'. "But Janet Jackson got exiled over half a second nip slip."
