‘Industry’ star hints at major cast shakeup for Season 5 after bombshell finale
With the conclusion of the fourth season of 'Industry,' the HBO show has come to a narrative crossroads. On one hand, there's the potential of an engaging final installment that will provide a fitting end to the alluring financial drama. On the other hand, it seems likely that fan-favorite characters such as Kit Harington's Henry and Max Minghella's Whitney won't appear in the final season. The upcoming season was greenlit by the network on February 25, and as of this writing, a potential release date has yet to be announced.
In an interview with TV Insider, Harington was asked if he ever wished to return to the show. The 'Game of Thrones' star, who was first introduced in the third season of 'Industry,' remarked, "They really gave me an incredible Season 4, where they put the character through pretty much everything. I don’t know what else they can put Henry through. I love (Industry creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay). I’d always listen to offers from them. I don’t know how many seasons they planned, but if there are more seasons, then they want Henry to come back in a small way or a bigger way; I don’t mind. I’d always listen.”
Minghella too provided a similar answer when asked the same during his joint interview with Harington, stating, "To Kit’s point, I really hope to get to work with Mickey and Konrad on another project at some point because they’re so endlessly talented and they’re so unique, actually, what they’re doing is so specific, and it was really fun to work on this.” The finale episode of the show's recently concluded fourth season has already hinted that Myha'la and Marisa Abela, who play Harper and Yasmin, respectively, will play a determining role in the final season. Moreover, the finale also depicted Henry and Yas finally getting a divorce in the aftermath of Henry's public scandal. After Whitney took off with a new identity, Henry struggled to rein in Tender, the company the duo co-founded. As a result, this led to the inevitable downfall of Tender.
Apart from this, the fourth season also bid farewell to Sagar Radia, who played Rishi, and Ken Leung, who portrayed Eric Tao. It also featured the on-screen death of Jim Dycker, played by actor Charlie Heaton. Kiernan Shipka, Miriam Petche, and Toheeb Jimoh emerged unscathed from the finale episode and might make it to the next season. Nevertheless, an official cast announcement will go a long way in confirming their return. All seasons of 'Industry' are available for streaming exclusively on HBO Max.
