Who is Joe on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

'Dr Pimple Popper' returns with a new episode this Wednesday, as she assists patient Joe in removing his numerous head cysts, as he tells her he lost his wife Becky a few weeks before filming.

Although many fans watch the TLC show for the enjoyment and gratification of all the pops and squeezes, episodes can be rather emotional as Dr Pimple Popper drastically improves the lives of her patients. Before the show airs, we take a deeper look at Joe and his late wife Becky.

So far in this series, the expert has assisted a woman with a "third boob" beneath her armpit and a man with over 400 growths on his body. She is presently preparing a widower for surgery since he has huge cysts all over the back of his head. But it hasn't been an easy road. He sobs to the camera, "Becky wanted more than anything for me to have these bumps taken care of."

"Unfortunately, she passed away two weeks ago."

What happened to Joe on 'Dr Pimple Popper'?

'Dr Pimple Popper's most recent patient, Joe, has pilar cysts, which are huge lumps on his head, Dr Sandra Lee tells us. Joe tells Dr Lee, "I've got these bumps all over my head."

She says that when they grow to this size, it indicates that they've been there for a while. Many patients are afraid of doctors and, hence, leave their cysts untreated for years. Joe tells the camera that Becky wanted him to get these lumps removed more than anything else, which might be one of the main reasons he's going to visit the TLC doctor.

However, it doesn't appear to be an easy process, as Dr Lee says at the conclusion of the clip, "This is proving to be a little bit more of a problem" concerning his larger ones.

Pilar cysts occur around hair follicles and mainly afflict middle-aged individuals, according to the NHS. They are a type of skin cyst that can be passed down through generations.

The preview clip then switches to the guy being operated on as Dr Lee pops one of the cysts on his head.

Tune into TLC every Wednesday at 9 pm ET to catch new episodes of 'Dr Pimple Popper' Season 9.
