Ahead of the final season, fans will be aware of Homelander securing a top global position, even as Starlight (Erin Moriarty) builds a resistance group to take down the villainous supe. The remaining gang is scattered, fending off his minions, but will come together for one last kill. The good news is the discovery of a synthetic pathogen that kills supes, but the curveball is that they just get one shot at it. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), with his new powers, will still have to get it right. The finale is expected to wrap up the series for good, tying up all plotlines. As for the new characters, the new season also features Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins set to play major roles. Kripke previously confirmed the duo’s presence in Episode 5.

Teasing the slew of character deaths, "You can let people have the emotional confrontations that they’ll never recover from," Kripke said, while speaking to SFX Magazine, via GamesRadar+. "We wanted to take full advantage of that, having these mind-blowing moments. It’s a battle, and there are going to be casualties. It would be unrealistic not to. Things cost things, you can’t just get away with this!’ So yes, I wouldn’t get too attached to any single character."
