'The Bachelorette' promo hints at major drama as a furious Taylor Frankie Paul asks a contestant to leave
'The Bachelorette' has been teasing a lot of drama and chaos ahead of the release of Season 22, featuring Taylor Frankie Paul as the leading lady. ABC released a 30-second teaser on March 16, which reveals that Taylor's search for love will be anything but smooth sailing. The promo begins with one of the contestants, Shane, calling the bachelorette a "really confident woman," who is "gentle and sweet." But he adds that "she's not gonna get walked over," which Taylor proves in the promo. Her straightforward approach is on full display as she doesn't hesitate to call out the men whenever needed. Paul, star of 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,' is the first bachelorette in years to be chosen from outside Bachelor Nation. The series is set to premiere on ABC on March 22.
The promo promises plenty of ups and downs before Taylor hands her final rose to one lucky guy. But it looks like not everyone is keen on winning her over as one unidentified contestant shockingly says, "If she gives me a rose, I’m going to reject it." At another point in the promo, Taylor's patience wears thin, prompting her to take back all the roses she has handed out. "I’m not here to get played. I want to take all of the roses away," she says in frustration. When contestant Lew Evans states that he’s on the show for the right reasons, Taylor quips back, "You’re lying." Several tense moments follow, including a contestant chasing after a car while calling out Taylor’s name. The promo ends with the bachelorette sending one of her romantic suitors home. She orders the guy to "get in the car and leave" while slamming the door.
The 22 men vying for Taylor’s heart and the final rose in Season 22 of 'The Bachelorette' come from varied backgrounds, including a Paralympian, a professional baseball player, a cowboy entrepreneur, a chiropractic healer, an ocean lifeguard, and more. The 22 contestants are Clayton Johnson, Conrad Ukropina, Trenten Merrill, Aaron Kahng, Casey Hux, Brad Ledford, Matt Carroll, Josh Harward, Brandon Perce, Mike Turitto, Christopher Wood, Kevin Montero, Doug Mason, Johnnie LaRossa, Lew Evans, Ronn Perez, Marcus Richardson, Malik Evans, Richard Van De Water, Michael Baba, Rod Strozier, and Shane Parton.
Taylor is a 31-year-old content creator from Utah who rose to prominence in 2024 by starring on the reality series 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' on Hulu. The mom of three has been in two high-profile relationships, with Tate Paul (ex-husband) and Dakota Mortensen (ex-boyfriend). She told Us Weekly on March 11 that she decided to go on 'The Bachelorette' to start a new chapter in her romantic life. "There was no other reason for me to do this other than I wanted to get outside of Utah and the toxicity that I’m in and venture off and really do something for myself," she said. She also called it a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," telling the magazine, "Who gets this opportunity as a single mom to just purely focus on dating and love and yourself?" Watch Taylor's journey unfold on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC or stream the episodes the next day on Hulu.
