Pushing forward from its humble beginnings as an indie-slasher horror flick, the 'Terrifier' franchise is rapidly moving towards its fourth and, albeit, final instalment. Although an official confirmation remains elusive as of this writing, actress Lauren LaVera, who played Sienna Shaw in the previous 'Terrifier' movies, recently spilled an exciting update about the development status of 'Terrifier 4'. ScreenRant reported that 'Terrifier 4' was already in the pipeline long before the premiere of 'Terrifier 3', and might just arrive sooner than audiences expect.

Written and directed by Damien Leone, who has helmed all previous films in the franchise in a similar capacity, 'Terrifier 4' is anticipated to take the action to epic proportions. It is also worth noting that the background story of the mysterious Art the Clown will be explored in the upcoming film. Speaking to ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns while promoting her recent horror movie 'Twisted', LaVera expressed feeling 'terrible' at having no answer to when the fourth film would arrive in theatres. She further added that Leone is 'probably close to finished' with the movie's screenplay. LaVera continued, "Damien does text me constantly...we're always just kind of (in touch). He has the flu right now, last I heard, on his birthday of all days! I was so bummed because I was like, 'Oh, have a drink for me,' and he was like, 'Ah, I'm sick.' So I know that he's still writing it."

She was then asked about the persistent rumours that 'Terrifier 4' might release this year, to which the actress quipped, "I don't know where people are getting that." She then added that such rumours were unverified, as no member of the production team had yet come forward with a potential release date. Nevertheless, judging by the quick turnaround time of 'Terrifier 3', it wouldn't be altogether too far-fetched to speculate that 'Terrifier 4' has a good chance of making it to theatres this year.

In another interview with Den of Geek, LaVera had commented, "I haven’t read any of the script yet, I don’t think Damien’s even done writing it as of right now. I’m sure he’s close to done based on things he has texted me and what he’s been telling the press, but no, he’s kept it completely under wraps from David, from myself, from all of the other cast and crew. So it’ll be a surprise.”

Apart from revealing Art the Clown's chilling backstory and explaining his seemingly immortal nature, 'Terrifier 4' is also speculated to feature Sienna embarking on a journey to Hell to rescue her Gabbie after the latter was pulled in, along with her iconic sword. 'Terrifier 3' is available for streaming on Prime Video and Screambox
