Unrecognizable Jonah Hill joins Keanu Reeves and ‘The Mask’ star in Apple TV’s ‘Outcome’
Apple TV shared the first look at actors Jonah Hill, Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, and Matt Bomer from the dark comedy film ‘Outcome’ during its press day in Santa Monica on February 3. But it was Hill's noticeably slimmer look that caught the attention of fans. In the still, the 42-year-old actor dons a shaved head, bushy grey beard, and glasses and is seen reassuring a tense-looking Reeves in front of a Hollywood film studio lot. In addition to starring in the film, Hill has also directed, produced, and co-written the screenplay alongside Ezra Woods. Matt Dines and Alison Goodwin share producing credits with the ‘Superbad’ actor.
In 'Outcome,' Reeves plays a troubled Hollywood star named Reef Hawk, who becomes the target of an extortion plot and sets out to redeem himself by confronting his past demons. Hill plays his crisis lawyer Ira Slitz, while Diaz and Bomer star as Reef's best friends Kyle and Xander, respectively, notes The Hollywood Reporter. Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese joins the star-studded cast as the washed-up talent agent Richie 'Red' Rodriguez. He is joined by Laverne Cox as Virginia Allen Green, Susan Lucci as Dinah Hawk, Roy Wood Jr as Reverend Leondrus Carter, David Spade as Buddy, Welker White as Savannah, Kaia Gerber as Oksana, and Atsuko Okatsuka as Unis Kim. Cary Christopher and Ivy Wolk round out the film's supporting cast.

At the Apple TV press day, Hill described the film as “a metaphor for what we all go through living on social media. Social media has made us obsessed with what people we don’t know think of us, instead of caring about what the people who know us best think of us.” 53-year-old Diaz called the film's premise an "interesting commentary about celebrity and how it functions in our society and what's expected," during an exclusive interview with Extra.
She went on to add, "We live in a world now where celebrity is accessible to anyone. Anybody can be famous. It's no longer famous for 15 minutes; it's famous for 15 seconds. Everybody can get a little taste of it if they have one viral video or it's all relative to somebody. Somebody might say 100 likes makes them feel famous and somebody might say 10,000 likes makes them famous. It's a feeling that everyone is reaching for and they don't really know what it is, and it's a value in our society that I think we should all sort of take a look at because it might not be the best thing for our health."
The film's official synopsis reads, "Reef Hawk, Hollywood's poster child since age six, is not okay. When he learns about an extortion plot tied to a mysterious video, Reef preemptively sets out on a redemption tour to make amends, confront his demons, and avoid getting canceled." With a runtime of 1 hour and 23 minutes, 'Outcome' is set to release worldwide on Apple TV on April 10, 2026. The film marks Hill's third directorial debut, following the coming-of-age drama 'Mid90s' in 2018 and the documentary 'Stutz' in 2022. His last film appearance was over three years ago in Kenya Barris's 2023 romantic comedy, 'You People' as Ezra Cohen. Additionally, the Apple Original film will see Diaz and Reeves reunite for the first time in 30 years since playing romantic leads in 1996's rom-com, 'Feeling Minnesota.'
