Sam Raimi's franchise is getting a new terrifying entry, a bit earlier than expected. Warner Bros. recently released a teaser announcing the release date for 'Evil Dead Burn.' The horror movie is set to be the sixth installment in the 'Evil Dead' film series, and the third standalone entry. Previously scheduled for July 24, the movie will now be released worldwide on July 10. Producers have yet to clarify the reason the movie is being pushed forward. The new release date puts the horror venture in direct competition with Disney’s live-action adaptation of 'Moana,' which is also releasing on the same day. Its previous release date avoided any major conflicts; the movie would have had to vie for the audience's attention with 'Spiderman: Brand New Day' releasing just a week later.

The terrifying teaser is over a minute long and features a woman (Souheila Yacoub) dragging her body through a rundown house. The teaser begins with the woman waking from a daze and finding her friend being thrown to the wall by two people. As the woman makes her way through, deadites are wreaking havoc all around her. They are hurting everyone in their sight. The teaser ends with the woman managing to hide behind the stairs, while two others try to run for their lives from the Deadites.

The teaser video arrived with a synopsis. "Evil Dead Burn unleashes the franchise’s most savage and terrifying ride to date, blazing onto big screens with an all-new chapter of carnage and demonic mayhem. After the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life... live on even in death," the synopsis read. The caption promised that a full trailer would arrive soon. A rough trailer was unveiled at this year's CinemaCon, as per Deadline

The trailer apparently featured broken fingers, chainsaws, and plenty of blood. 'Evil Dead Burn' follows 'Evil Dead Rise' in the franchise, which became a sleeper hit in 2023 by grossing around $147 million worldwide. The latest installment has been directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who also co-wrote the script. Along with Yacoub, the movie will also feature Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Erroll Shand, Maude Davey, George Pullar, and Greta Van Den Brink in starring roles. Sam Raimi, who started the franchise with 'The Evil Dead' in 1981, serves as a producer. Another Evil Dead movie is set to be released in 2028 after 'Evil Dead Burn,' titled 'Evil Dead Wrath,' which is being directed by Francis Galluppi.
