LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amazon Prime Video is giving streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+ a run for their money by offering expensive, high-profile projects like 'Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' The streamer is about to premiere its highly anticipated series 'Citadel.' The Russo Brothers' upcoming action-drama series revolves around the independent global spy agency 'Citadel,' which went under eighty years ago. When the agency collapsed, the memories of 'Citadel' elite agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh were erased, and they barely escaped with their lives. However, they emerge from hiding to stop Manticore from gaining world dominance.

The series, developed by David Weil, will star Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in the lead. Another cast includes Stanley Tucci, Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, and Roland Moller.

When will all episodes of ‘Citadel' be out on Prime Video?

'Citadel' is a significant investment for Amazon Prime Video, and the streaming service hopes to make it a major international TV event. The streaming service will launch a "mothership" show as well as two regional satellite episodes in Italy and India.

The upcoming spy series from Joe and Anthony Russo will make its way to Amazon Prime Video on April 28, 2023. Here's the complete schedule: 

April 28: ‘Citadel’ Episodes 1 & 2

May 5: ‘Citadel’ Episode 3

May 12: ‘Citadel’ Episode 4

May 19: ‘Citadel’ Episode 5

May 26: ‘Citadel’ Episode 6

The six episodes series will conclude with the final airing in May. 

Inspiration behind 'Citadel'

Created by 'Avengers: Endgame' filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo, revealed their inspiration behind creating the action series. While chatting with Total Film Magazine, Joe Russo said, "It's an accurate way to talk about it, without question. I mean, we loved Bond growing up." "We're immense fans of Bond, but our job is to try to take what we love about these sorts of genres and films that have influenced us and figure out ways to push them into spaces and places that surprise us..." Anthony Russo added. "So hopefully we hit that mark. We'll see. We certainly do think of it as a spy-verse," said Anthony, adding, "That's the approach we took with it."

'Citadel' premieres on Prime Video on April 28.
