The second season of 'Dexter: Resurrection' has been in active development for quite some time now. According to ScreenRant, director Marcos Siega has finally shared a major update on the upcoming season of the crime drama mystery series. On December 5, Siega took to his Instagram page and disclosed that filming for the second season of ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ will kickstart in April 2026. Siega's post included a picture from the writers' room featuring a few writers and some creatives returning for the show, including Clyde Phillips, Scott Reynolds, Scott Buck, Katrina Mathewson, Marc Muszynski, Alexandra Franklin, Nick Zayas, Kirsa Rein, and Tanner Bean. The caption read, "Season 2 is so good! We start shooting in April and it can't come soon enough."

Siega's Instagram post account also consisted of some writing notes and scripts on the table, as well as whiteboards. However, the titles, dialogues, and descriptions were kept hidden. In addition to this, the picture also included a text message on the top that read, "The Dexter writers room! What a privilege it is to bring their words to life." But the lack of finer details did not dull the excitement of fans. "I'm so excited for this!!!!! All hail to the Dexter writers bringing our favourite show to life," a netizen commented, while another wrote, "Huge respect to everyone here who ensured this series is the legend it has become."

As per Screenrant, Phillips announced that the script of the first episode of 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2 has officially been completed. However, the status of scripts for the other episodes remains undisclosed; they are expected to be completed by March 2026. Up until this moment, Siega hasn't shared any details about the 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2 plot. Taking the filming window into consideration, it appears that the second season will most likely be released in late 2026.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Kadia Saraf, who plays the role of detective Claudette Wallace in the show, stated she would love to gain more insights about her character's life outside of work in the new ‘Dexter: Resurrection' season. Saraf shared, "What's really interesting to explore is how she is at home, what she does when she gets home, if she ever dates, and what that looks like. I'm curious to know about her relationship with family and how that informed her hyper focus and the absolute survival need to solve a case. This isn't just something that is taught. This is a result of something that happened. I would like to explore that for sure. Mostly, I would like to see her in private spaces, in private moments, and see what that looks like. That for me—and the audience—would be very special."
