LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix's forthcoming Danish crime series based on a true story, 'The Nurse' will follow the narrative of a nurse who observes a crime being committed within the walls of a hospital on Denmark's outskirts by those trusted with providing care. The series centers on the true story of a Danish nurse found guilty of attempted manslaughter of four patients.

Kasper Barfoed, who also wrote the script with Dorte W Hogh, directs the true-crime drama starring Josephine Park and Fanny Louise Bernth. What is the plot of ‘The Nurse’?

'The Nurse,' based on Kristian Corfixen's award-winning non-fiction true-crime book 'The Nurse: The True Story Behind One of Scandinavia's Most Notorious Criminal Trials,' is a dramatization of the true story of a nurse. The chilling four-part limited series is based on a call that was received by Danish police in 2015 from a nurse employed at the Nykobing Falster Hospital. The nurse suspects her coworker of murdering the patients, and thus the murder case unfolds and goes down in Danish legal history, with many fellow employees coming forward to confess that they, too, perceived the nurse as killing her patients.

Christina Aistrup Hansen, a Danish nurse who received a sentence of 12 years in prison in 2017 for four counts of attempted murder, is the center of the story. But the audience is left thinking: if the others at work suspected her for years, why didn't they report her, and where did all of the proof go? The series gets to present it all.

‘The Nurse’ will release on April 27, 2023, on Netflix for the audience to stream.
