What is GnA? 'RHOP' costars Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby create 'Lululemon meets Rihanna's Savage' athleisure line
POTOMAC, MARYLAND: Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby of 'The Real Housewives of Potomac' introduced their activewear company GnA on the most recent episode of the Bravo show. The duo has been the show's OGs since the first season, and despite several ups and downs, they are coming together for their first joint venture.
In the January 26 episode, the duo was seen browsing over their unique collection and Ashley thought the designs were very "interesting."
In her confessional, Ashley said, "Gizelle and I decided to come up with our athleisure line because we feel like athleisure ties into something that I'm passionate about, which is physical fitness and feeling good and looking good."
"GNA, Gizelle, and Ashley, it's actually like a Lululemon meets Rihanna's Savage line," Gizelle explains in her confessional and added that she intends to use little rhinestones, laces, and mesh in her designs.
The Housewives are creating a "cute" yet "stylish" line for anyone aged 12 to 65.
'RHOP' costars Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby promoted GnA on Instagram
On October 6, the project made its debut with an Instagram post, which had only the 'gna' logo and no additional information. The mystery was heightened when the 'Gizelle n Ashley' account shared another video of Ashley and Gizelle dancing on the same day.
The caption on the post said, "GnA all day! Creative meetings always end with a little freestyle." Ashley and Gizelle are both seen wearing shirts and pants with the 'gna' emblem but did not explain what it represents.
'RHOP's Ashley Darby trying to be financially independent with GnA
Ashley acknowledges that it's no secret that Michael Darby was the breadwinner in her family before their split. She did let some of her "financial stuff go and just relied on Michael, which, in hindsight, wasn't the best choice to make."
Her initial seasons were mostly centered on her desire to have a child and her efforts to effectively operate Oz, an Australian-themed restaurant owned by herself and her then-husband. The restaurant struggled for nearly four years before it closed in June 2019.
Ashley has liked being a customer, but now she needs to make some money, "not spend the money."
What does 'RHOP' star Ashely Darby do now?
Ashley's collaboration with Gizelle is not her only effort. Ashley also obtained her 200-hour yoga instructor certification, according to her website.
In her Bravo bio, she says she's aiming to strike a balance between "inner peace and outer physicality." She also stated that she is working to juggle "love, family, business, and motherhood."
Ashley found yoga after having a miscarriage. "It presented itself to me when I was just feeling so down and depressed, and it really saved me," she told The Washingtonian.
"I realized it's about the physical and the mental," she revealed. Ashley's passion for yoga extends to instructing as well.
On her website, she stated that she had "the intention of helping other souls find their peace and purpose in a busy world". To receive her yoga instruction and recommendations, sign up for her email list on her website.
She also frequently teaches yoga courses in the Potomac community, as seen by this Instagram video of her 45-minute 'Every Now And Zen' lesson.
