The year is coming to an end, but several new movies and TV shows are set to light up your homes during the holiday season. Rian Johnson's upcoming film 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery', which is set to hit Netflix on December 12, is currently one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, with fans eager to watch Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) in the long-awaited 'Knives Out' sequel. Other films that have generated immense buzz among the fans include Brad Pitt’s 'F1' and Channing Tatum's crime drama 'Roofman'. In addition to this, viewers will also get a new season of Disney's fantasy series 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians', which premieres on Disney+ later this month. Here's a list of five must-watch movies and shows this December.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Rian Johnson's 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery' serves as a sequel to the 2022 mystery film 'Glass Onion'. In the third instalment of the 'Knives Out' series, set to stream on Netflix starting December 12, Detective Blanc will be seen heading to upstate New York to investigate a case involving a murdered monsignor. The murder mystery apparently defies all logic, and it turns out to be Blanc's most personal case to date. Along with Craig, the film also stars Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church in pivotal roles.

F1

Director Joseph Krasinski's sports drama, 'F1', tells the life story of the Formula One racing driver Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), who gets back on the track following a 30-year hiatus to save his former teammate's underdog team, APXGP, from collapse. For the unversed, Hayes was one of the top racing drivers in Formula 1 during the 1990s; however, his life turned upside down after a career-ending crash at the 1993 Spanish Grand Prix. After nearly three decades, Hayes returned to the racing track when a struggling team was looking for a top-notch racer. Along with Pitt, the ensemble cast of the film includes Ehren Kruger, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and Javier Bardem. 'F1' will be releasing on Apple TV on December 12.

Roofman

Directed by Derek Cianfrance, 'Roofman' is a crime drama film that is based on the real story of a former soldier and professional thief named Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum) who escaped prison and managed to hide inside a toy store. During his time in the store, Manchester fell in love with a divorced mom (Kirsten Dunst), and eventually, struggled to balance his dangerous double life. The film also features LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Peter Dinklage,  Ben Mendelsohn, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, and Jimmy O. Yang in supporting roles. 'Roofman' will be available for streaming on Paramount+ from December 9.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2

The second season of 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians', which will be based on Rick Riordan's fantasy novel 'The Sea of Monsters', drops on Hulu on December 10. As per Deadline, this book primarily focuses on a 13-year-old demigod, Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), as he tries to rescue his satyr friend Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) from the Cyclops that trapped Odysseus. The cast of the show includes Leah Sava Jeffries, Dior Goodjohn, Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Megan Mullally, Charlie Bushnell, Nick Boraine, and Lance Reddick.

Man vs. Baby Season 1

Rowan Atkinson, well-known by fans for his role as Mr. Bean, is back with a brand-new Netflix original series. In the upcoming show, Atkinson will be seen facing off against a baby. As per Netflix, the official synopsis for 'Man vs. Baby' reads, "As Christmas approaches, a blundering-all-the-way dad juggles housesitting a posh London penthouse with an unexpected pickle: caring for a lost baby." The show is a follow-up to the 2022 comedy series 'Man vs. Bee', and it will consist of four 30-minute episodes. 'Man vs. Baby' Season 1 is slated to premiere on Netflix on December 11.
