'Weird Al' Yankovic loved his reference in 'Stranger Things' Season 4, responds with #brave on Twitter
Not new to quoting pop culture references, 'Stranger Things' Season 4 had quite a few, and one of them was American singer 'Weird Al' Yankovic whose name-drop was something he was pleased about. The 62-year-old was referenced when Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo) and Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard) are joined by latest addition Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) in some cafeteria chatter.
Eddie, who plays the leader of Hellfire, Hawkins' D&D club references Yankovic. “I knew it the moment I saw you. You sat at that table right over there looking like two little lost sheep,” he says, before speaking directly to Matarzzo’s character. “You were wearing a Weird Al T-shirt, which I thought was brave.” And needless to say, 'The Weird Al Show' star was happy and tweeted #brave by sharing a snippet that included his name-drop.

Twitter were equally pleased with the reference. "You're the strangest of things, Al. We love ya anyway," one of the tweets read. "Loving the 80s - 90s revival? Glad to see you getting a lot of love lately," another tweeted. "I wore a Weird Al shirt to Ozzfest one year. I got so many compliments while in the mosh pit," a fan remarked.

Better known as Alfred Matthew Yankovic, the singer was best known for making parodies of the best pop culture including Michael Jackson, Foo Fighters, and various other artists. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the school found Dustin weird and the 'Weird Al' shirt was just probably how he is a persona in the series.
Volume 1 of the latest season ended with Vecna's (the big baddie) past being revealed. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) gained her powers, Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Steve (Joe Keery) rekindled their lost spark of sorts, while Hopper was rescued by Joyce and Murray.
