It has been established time and again that History Channel's 'Vikings' would never be the same without Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) taking the story forward. But like all major characters of all stories, his journey came to an end. Despite a lot of pain and heartbreak, we somehow managed to move on, shifting our focus to Lagertha, Bjorn and the others, who, thankfully, never made us feel the void as much.

But then Lagertha left us too and it broke our hearts and made us miss the days when these characters would sweep us off our feet with their roles, and balance all the emotions that made this show more humane and not just a dramatic rendition of historical facts.

Truth be told, we all miss those good old days when Ragnar and Lagertha's love story would melt our hearts, their valiance would bring a sparkle to our eyes and their stories would inspire us. A lot has changed since then but we can't erase the experience of those early years from our minds. Even fans feel the same way.

As we see Bjorn reminisce his mother and grieving her death in Episode 8, he recalls those days when he would spend time with his father, learning about being a Viking, a king and a man. Then we saw that emotional scene when Lagertha leaves Ragnar after he marries Auslaug. Young Bjorn is torn between his mother and father and finally after fighting his decision he chooses to be with his mother.

These scenes brought back memories to the fans and they have not been able to get over the earlier days of the Lothbrok family. Here are a few heartfelt comments from fans on Reddit.

"Ragnar, Lagertha and young Bjorn. I miss those days," wrote a fan and other added, "I LOVE THE THROWBACK."

"That's when Bjorn ran towards lag. God that was such a long time ago," said one more fan.

Some fans like us still miss the earlier seasons. They were, no doubt, some of the best days on the show. "Made me miss old Vikings," said a fan and another added, "Those seasons made this my favorite TV series of all time."

"Man this show is NOT the same without Ragnar. Miss you so much," wrote one. Yes! We do too and we couldn't agree more.

However, all said and done, it is time for Bjorn and for us to look forward as the Viking king takes stock of the situation and fulfills his responsibilities of a king and proves himself to his people.

'Vikings' Season 6 airs every Wednesday at 10pm/9c, only on History Channel.
