Keeya King's Violet Hansen is one of the most intriguing new characters introduced in season 4 of Syfy's 'Van Helsing' and the show's latest episode hinted she may have a great destiny ahead of her. Violet is a pretty formidable fighter who is essentially like a supersoldier but King revealed to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) in an exclusive interview that she actually didn't have any fight training before joining the show.

"I didn't know how to fight beforehand at all," King said. "I got the call that I booked the role and I was excited and I left my home in Toronto and flew to the studio where we shot and I started fighting day one. As soon as I got off the plane I was in a fight training camp. And it was exciting, the stunt choreographer and all the people that I worked with, the stunt team are just absolutely amazing. So I worked with them to prepare all the fight choreography and stuff like that. Outside of it, I did some of my own training because Violet uses a gun for most of the show so I went and did some gun training, I went and did some gymnastics, and I also did some parkour because she does a little bit of flips and stuff here and there. So it was all this physical training to just sort of get prepared."

The intense fight scenes King is required to perform for the show involves quite a bit of blood and gore, which is a staple of the series and could be a little off-putting for some people. However, King revealed she actually enjoys the bloody scenes because the mixture used to simulate blood on the show tastes like candy.

"I love the blood," she revealed. "I love all the gore, like the punching and then the blood splatters out of your mouth, I love all that stuff because the blood actually tastes like candy. It tastes like sugar so I'm like 'More blood, more blood for me all the time.'"

"I think it's corn syrup mixed with a bit of more food coloring and then we CGI even more blood at the end of all of it," King added. "I'm a complete fan of the blood especially because my character is a fighter so I'm pretty much eating super-healthy. So when I get the blood I'm like 'This is my candy'."

You can catch King as Violet on the next episode of 'Van Helsing' which will be arriving on Syfy October 11.
