Japanese animation is one of the most popular genres of the time and with more mangas being made into anime, the options are only growing! One such much-loved manga that finally got made into anime and the world by storm was the superhero-centered 'Ultraman'.

The first season of the anime 'Ultraman' which is based on the works of Tsuburaya Productions, Eiichi Shimizu, and Tomohiro Shimoguchi became a global hit and even received many awards both in Japan and overseas. So understandably the hype was high for the next season and Netflix is here to deliver! The superheroes return once more and this time, are faced with other-worldly aliens threatening to eradicate half the population of the earth. The squad will see new Ultramen join forces to take down the invaders and protect their planet. When does 'Ultraman' Season 2 release and where to watch it? 

'Ultraman' Season 2 is set to premiere on April 14, 2022. You can watch it exclusively on Netflix.

What is 'Ultraman' Season 2 about?

According to the official Netflix synopsis: 'The series centers on the son of Ultraman, Shinjiro Hayata, and the six heroes (Ultraman, Seven, Ace, Zoffy, Jack, Taro) who carry on the tradition of the legendary 6 Ultra Brothers. Together, they face the schemes of aliens on a cosmic scale.
Kotaro Higashi, a young photographer, encounters a mysterious missing persons case. He takes a photo proving that it was the work of aliens and brings it to the SSSP with his girlfriend Izumi. However, a certain incident transforms him into a superhuman with incredible fiery superpowers. Then, a massive cosmic weapon appears before the human-sized Ultraman...

Who stars in the second season of the Netflix anime series?

Ryohei Kimura as Shinjiro/Ultraman

Ryohei Kimura is a popular is a Japanese actor, voice actor, and singer. He has lent his voice and dubbed movies that include 'The Chronicles of Narnia', 'Life of Pi', 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters', 'X-Men: Apocalypse', 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle', 'Bumblebee' and more. He is one of the well-known voice actors for anime. Some if his most famous roles are Ryouta Kise in the 'Kuroko no Basket' series,  Tartaglia in 'Genshin Impact', Howzer in 'The Seven Deadly Sins', Kōtaro Bokuto in 'Haikyū!! 2', 'Hinata from 'Angel Beats!' and more. Kimura will once again voice the lead character of Shinjiro aka Ultraman. 



 

The rest of the voice actors consist of Takuya Eguchi as Dan "Ultraseven" Moroboshi, Megumi Han as "Ultraman Ace" Hokutu,  Ryōta Takeuchi as Jack, Hiroaki Hirata as Ace Killer, Kenjirô Tsuda as Adad, Maaya Sakamoto as Ultraman Taro’s girlfriend Izumi, Junichi Suwabe as Alien Pedant and more.

'Ultraman' Season 2 is directed by Kenji Kamiyama and Shinji Aramaki. The series is produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Production I G.
