Netflix 'Tiger & Bunny' Season 2: 5 things to know about Japanese action anime series

Netflix does a great job of bringing various types of entertainment to us with Japanese anime being one of the genres that is popular and in abundance on the site. From slice of life, rom-coms, horror, action, comedy, and thrillers anime does it all, and oh so well!

But the upcoming series 'Tiger & Bunny' Season 2 is a special one as the beloved show returns after a long 11 years with Season 1 premiering in 2011. The Netflix series follows the ever-exciting and dangerous lives of superheroes whose deeds are broadcast on the popular TV show Hero TV which earns them fame and points with their sponsor companies. Full of comedy, action, and adventure Season 2 will see Kotetsu T Kaburagi and Barnaby Brooks Jr together once more. When does 'Tiger & Bunny' Season 2 release and where to watch it

'Tiger & Bunny' Season 2 is set to premiere on April 8, 2022. You can watch it on Netflix. 

What is 'Tiger & Bunny' Season 2 about

The official Netflix synopsis reads: 'In Sternbild City, people of all races and ethnicities live alongside humans with superhuman abilities called NEXT, who use their NEXT abilities to maintain peace... Heroes wear sponsor logos, help solve crimes and save people in order to improve the image of their companies and acquire hero points. Their activities are broadcast on the popular show “Hero TV,” where the heroes try to climb the annual rankings and aim to be the “King of Heroes.”

Kotetsu T Kaburagi and Barnaby Brooks Jr continue their hero activities to boost the image of their company, Apollon Media, as well as maintain peace. The hero system that originated in Sternbild City has now been adopted in places around the world. As more and more heroes appear, a new hero enters Sternbild City. Now that they are more veteran heroes, will Kotetsu and Barnaby be able to live up to the expectations put on them?!

Who stars in the Netflix anime series?

Hiroaki Hirata as Kotetsu T Kaburagi

Hiroaki Hirata is a popular Japanese actor, voice actor, and narrator who has done dubbing for various Japanese animation movies and series. He also has dubbed for many Western movies and is the official Japanese dub-over artist for Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, Noah Wyle, and Matt LeBlanc. Along with them he also dubbed for many roles of Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, and Josh Hartnett. Some of his works include 'Sword Art Online', 'Naruto Shippuden', 'Gintama', 'Banana Fish', 'The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited',' 'Devil May Cry' and more, but is most well known for voicing Vinsmoke Sanji in 'One Piece'. He voices the main character Kotetsu T. Kaburagi in the 'Tiger & Bunny' and has won the 11th Tokyo Anime Award for Best Voice Actor.



 

The rest of the voice actors consist of Masakazu Morita as Barnaby Brooks Jr, Minako Kotobuki as Karina Lyle, Go Inoue as Keith Goodman, Kenjiro Tsuda as Nathan Seymour,  Mariya Ise as Huang Pao-lin, Taiten Kusunoki as Antonio Lopez, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ivan Karelin, and more.
